one plants bigger than all the rest

I am growing 4 plants under a 400w hps. Durbon poison, green spirit, oasis and hemp star. The problem is my durbon is 21 inches high and all the rest are only about 12 or 13, the durban is also a lot less bushy. As I have limited space I can only grow each plant to about 4 feet high. I was going to switch to 12/12 when they were about 2 foot. I dont really want to have to switch early just because of the 1 plant, meaning the others do not reach there full potentual. I've been cosidering bending and topping. bending mite be a bit of a problem as the stem is really thick. I also intend to take a clone from each plant so I guess I could use the bit I top as a cutting. basicly I want to know which way is the best for me? Thanks.

If these plants havent been sexed the large one is probably a male.Its hard to say.As far as less bushy, every D.Poison I ever saw was sparse.Dont worry about uneven growth.After you go to 12/12 their all going to change size big time.Just be prepared to adjust the grow area to maximize growth.Staging the plants to keep them even with the lights help all their potential.If your ready to go 12/12 its a little late to top or bend or anything else.All that should have been done in the first 4-5 weeks.-usdi Agaluga

Thanks bud, They were all feminised seeds so sexing aint a problem. I have to switch the light 4 all of em at the same time cus I only have 1 growing space and 1 light. If there is nothing I can do I will just have to live with that I guess.

If you don't have the space to bend them and still be in the light your in the same boat I am.All of mine are orange bud but one wants to be a monster twice as big and I didn't want to get the light too far from the others. I had to cut the tops off the main cola and a bunch of stems after 12/12 for 3 or 4 weeks. It just grew up in to the light and burned any way. If you can't bend them then cut off the tops. Your looking at them going double the size when you go 12/12. Remember this too. If you only have top light your only growing the top 1/3rd of the crop anything below this will not get enough light for good buds. Take a look at my new thread in hydro. (redhair Ladies). The top I had to cut are all narly looking. I just put a 1000 HPS on them last night for the last 2 weeks of flowering . I hope it swells them up. Bend or cut unless you can lift each plant up on a pedastall to make them the same hieght. I'm just now understanding that in small grows that the 12/12 should be started at 4 or 5 nodes. You want short plants with huge bud on them you acually get more than growing trees because of the light. My next grow will be started at about 6 to 8 inches and end up at about 18 to 20 inches with a big fat bud on them, then light gets to all. Also growing different strains at one time cauuses prob's like this. Live and learn. show us some pictures we all like to see good growing plants and some one might have a better idea for you.

Thanks for the advice. I wil try n get sum pics posted soon but I dont have a camra so wil have to borrow 1. I may well get some side lighting. What do people recomend. I havent got a lot of cash so less is more if u get me.
