I dont think that hallucinogenic drugs induce some unnatural state of being Afterall, all the "drugs" we take attach themselves to a specific receptor in your brain, which triggers a semi-specific reaction in your body and mind .
rather, "drugs" are various keys which open different doors within your own mind. expanding your creativity and understanding of life. they arent here to hurt you, but to help you on your journey to find enlightenment...
what do you guys think?

Thats gotta be it then. i hate when i think of things that i think are unique but then find out that someone else has thought of it before.

i probably know all i need to know, much of which i can bet i'd find in that book...
studies i've looked up on the internet say that marijuana kills brain cells, counterstudies with more in-depth research, and more solid facts prove that it's actually "restructuring the brain, opening and closing portions off" which i believ enhance it's function.
given that you digest faster, allowing you to eat more (this is very good for vegetarians and vegans), your eyes expand to allow more light in, while at the same time, not making you feel blind, it preserves living cells, and eliminates dead cells, this is anticancerous, and this is just pot, immagine what LSD might do! it's probably the gateway to the paranormal! which is understandable, seeing as there are reports of people going insane... perhaps this "insanity" is actually their own misunderstanding of what they are experiancing...

Just because they open parts of your mind it doesn't mean that they can't fuck you up.
They really can.

Just because they open parts of your mind it doesn't mean that they can't fuck you up.
They really can.the honnest and true truth is that you do it to yourself by believing they can.
and they do not affect the mind, only the brain, the mind is a remote viewing device that is absolute nothingness ;)

sure... they can fuck ur body up a little (im only talking about mind operning drugs... not meth or crack or any of that bullshit) but overall i think its worth it for the enlightenment they can bring.
And i would love to write a book about stuff like that. My goal in life is to be a philosopher

Hell yeah, shrooms and pot give you that euphoric state of mind that all other people dont understand. i believe that these all-natural drugs are and were used for these kinds of things i love being in an altered state of mind. Ive seen people 100% against pot, then try it and love it. Peace

Doors of Perception is some pretty heavy reading. What you'll find a hell of a lot more interesting is Timothy Leary's Eight Circuit Model of Consciousness, which you can read here (http://deoxy.org/8circuit.htm). A lot of what it says echos your own thoughts. If you ever want more info, PM me, I've read a lot of stuff on the subject.

dude... salvia can turn on any of the last 5 states.
salvia is by far one of the most powerful, most enlightening trips you can have. it is hard to understand what it teaches, and it can never be explaind, but it is awesome and should be tried by anybody wanting to know

I think that is completly true. I've tried to have talks about this but you get some 14yr old stoner come in, "thats bs man. im sooooooo fukcin stoned :rasta: :rasta: :rasta: :rasta: :rasta: :rasta: :rasta: :rasta: :rasta:   :smokin: :pimp: <------notice all the icons.
Anyways, I think this is true with some drugs. Doctors say that the average human being uses only 10% of their brain. Doesn't that make you wonder what the remaining 90% is doing? I believe these are stored memories, from the smallest thing to the biggest. From remebering a sunset by the ocean to seeing a bug grossly splattered on your windsheild. I think that some drugs, such as LSD, shrooms, ayahuasca, open up these certain parts in your brain that are not active while sober. Taking these substances opens them up resulting in distorted vision(eg. colors, flowing) or visions themselves
I, myself, have taken all 3 of these drugs and have had exp. with them. I remeber clearly ayahuasca trip. I remeber seeing old relatives from years ago, old school buddies from kindergarden, and, believe me or not, saw an old friend of mine who committed suicide and finally put my mind at rest. Aya. widely used by Brazilian tribes as a "cleansing" of your body. Some people have even remembered their moment in childbirth while on Aya.
Everything you have ever seen, felt or seen with your own 2 eyes, those memories are forever in your brain.
My 2 cents.

Much of what has been said is true. Many people who believe that any artificially created state of mind isn't worth anything are very short sighted. The fact is that hallucinations arn't really enduced rather they're unlocked (psycopharmacological study). Psychedellics disrupt the neurochemicals that seperate sub-concious thought, memory, and concious perception. So what you're seeing with psychedellics is whats actually happening throughout different levels of conciousness and perception.

lsd inhibits the action of seritonin in your brain. seritonin blocks unneeded nerve impulses(trippin) from registering with yuor concious. all that trippin is going on in your brain all the time

u would never guess it, but im actually a genious. 185 IQ... and i beleive that's expanded very much since using cannabis. so those teachers who told me pot makes you stupid can fuck themselves...
and as to immaturity, age has nothing to do with it... i know a lot of 40 year olds who do nothing but talk about dick and fart jokes
