A message board software upgrade is coming soon - that may fix the problem.

In the meantime, make sure that your web browser is not blocking cookies from *.cannabis.com domains ... ie. boards.cannabis.com

And be sure that AutoComplete (if using MSIE - it's under Tools > Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete) for Forms (the second checkbox) is UNchecked.

Also, if you're accessing the boards through a proxy (if running firewall software other than that included with Windows XP [the Windows XP firewall is OK and should not be disabled], try disabling it temporarily to see if that makes a difference) that can lead to permission issues - the board upgrade coming soon may help, but not certain it will for all situations.

Lastly, run a couple of different adware / spyware scanner programs, in addition to regular antivirus software, to see be sure there's no junk in your computer that's messing with your internet connection.

I have a Mac so anything Windows related is not an issue. I also allow all cookies to this site, i am finding it hard to see what the problem is - why won't it let me post 1st on a new thread? :(
Anyway, i'll wait for the update.
Cheers for the reply,
DS

That's the message you get when you try to reply to a thread in 'Cannabis Want Ads'. It's by design. Look at the first thread in that forum :)

del there isnt a specific link you can go to, that isnt the problem
If someone has posted a thread, which no one has replied to yet, making me the first poster (after the person who made the thread) then it won't let me be the first person to post on that thread, and i get the message above. Does that make sense? There's no other way i can explain it...

like i already said (others too)...some rooms are designed for starting a thread without replies...like the want ads room for those in need to post their addy so providers can contact them OFF of the boards, which is the idea behind not allowing replies in those rooms as it is not open for discussion here in public.
now if you would just post a link to the room where this problem is giving you fits i could verify it for you...otherwise you'll just have to settle with, "the boards are working as they have been designed to work".

It likely is a Windows / Mac (and/or browser? -ie. if using Safari) issue ... vBulletin is developed and tested by mostly Windows-based folks; optimized for MSIE.

With that said ... here are two things to try...

* Instead of using the Quick Reply window at the bottom, click "Go Advanced" and then enter your reply.

--- if no good, then try...

* Click on the "Quote" button of the message you're replying to, delete out all the quoted text if so desired, and then enter your reply.

One of the above approaches may work.

I've tried the 'go advanced' link and no luck, but sometimes 'quote' seems to work, i'll keep trying that for now,
