Do you believe...

In college, my ex-g/f's (current roommate's) grandmother, and everywhere you go. There are either forgetful people or people with low self-maintenance.

I lived with 6 others in a house, at college, and seeing how I just transferred there for the second time, I had never lived with most of these people (though a few were good friends from my hometown). We had a three-story house, two lived on the first floor, four on the second, and one on the third. We had a pool table in a room on the first floor, and one day, my best friend and I were alone in the room (another had just left, Chuck, from Massachussetts) when I asked my friend, who knew Chuck better, why he stunk? He told me (and I don't know if he was serious, or not) that Chucky doesn't believe in deodorant.

The effects of a solid stick antiperspirant containing aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly and a deodorant soap containing 3,4,4'-trichlorocarbanilide (triclocarban) on aerobic axillary microorganisms were evaluated in male and female subjects (over 18 yr of age) using the Thran spray gun and the mechanical scrub method for bacterial sampling. Results showed that the use of the Thran spray gun technique for sampling compares favorably with the mechanical scrub method in terms of both reproducibility and its ability to detect changes in the population level of cutaneous microorganisms. Evaluation of the stick antiperspirant demonstrated similar log reductions and axillary bacteria when compared to controls using both methods. A 55% reduction in microorganisms was demonstrated 24 h after washing with the deodorant soap. Results suggest that the Thran spray gun method should have broad applications in assessing the antimicrobial efficacy of topically applied products.
