first grow seeds germinating...now ive been reading up as much as possible on lighting situations but in means of being as cost efficiant as possible meaning low budget i went to homedepot now they have a wide variety oflights but the most inexpensive ones happen to be halogen flood lights i havent heard much about these in here im wondering if these are any good for growing as well as clear metal halide bulbs...i was originally planning on going with flourescent lights but there low wattage along with weak lumens output has me rethinking it over im looking for about 8,000 lumens per plant and ballpark of 200w id hate to put lights up that would end up hurting my plants right now germanating 10 bag seeds in hopes of at least 6 sprouts ina 2' by 4' grow space..p.s. any opinions on high pressure sodiumlights would be useful as well...

Dont use halogens - they suck balls! hps and mh are pretty much as good as each other! - i think :rasta:

id got with the mh for veg, use some fluoros for the first week or 2. Halogens will cook your plants.

no, you really don't want mercury vapor bulbs. They generate less usable light than MH or HPS.
