I started some clones two weeks ago. Used rooting hormone powder and put them in the small rockwool cubes. Mixed up a small batch of "Dutch Nutrient Formula" (2 part A & B) and set the Ph at 5.5 to 6.0 area. Put them into a cloning tray under a humidity dome. Light is a flourecent 6500K 20watt from hydro store.
The first 4 I did this to seemed to work OK with 2 of them showing roots poking out the bottom of the rockwool cube at 11 days. The other 2 are on day 13 and still not showing any roots outside the cubes. I put the 2 that showed roots into the bigger rockwell cubes (4x4 for SOG) and back under the dome while I set up my vegging cabinet. (vegging will be using CFLs down close to the plants)
My question is this. Should I be feeding nutes like this during these early stages of the rooting/cloning process? The bottles say "for Seedlings and cuttings" but I have read other posts that say no nutes until 4th set of true leaves.
I have grown sucessfully in soil indoors but this is my first hydro grow. I have since started several more clones (a few days apart) and they seem to be doing OK except for 2 that appear to be dieing. I have so far used the exact methods described above.
Would like some comments from sucessful rockwool growers please. I know one very sucessful rockwool grower whose advice has gotten me this far but I am looking for second opinions on this stuff.
thanks a bunch,
