I ate a gram once in high school at eight or nine in the morning. By ten or eleven, I was laughing uncontrollably...in tears from laughing so hard. Around eleven, I walked into my typing class. Back then we had manual typewriters...about thirty of them in the class. Every day, we would start class witha ten-minute typing test. We would copy from printed material and the idea was to get as much on paper in ten minutes with the least amount of mistakes.
It was mid-year and normally I could bang out a page and a half with few mistakes. But this day was different. I was slightly overdosed, I think...because the sound of all those typewriters was like a 747 on approach for landing on a short runway inside of my head. I was feeling faint. Swaying back and forth in my chair...but still trying to type. I came very close to passing out for a minute.
When the ten-minute test ended, and the teacher walked behind each of us while looking over our shoulders at our work, she stopped and loomed over me. She reached over and tore my paper from the typewriter. "What do you call THIS?" she inquired in a harsh voice. Apparently I had only managed to type out a line and a half that went something like this:

Meanwhile, in my head, passengers were disembarking from the plane and wandering off across the tarmac... .

I stayed really stoned until maybe four in the afternoon...
