View Full Version : Weed, Vitamin C and panic attacks

So I used to smoke pot alot. For a period of 6 months I smoked pot nearly every day. After that I got more into alcohol, and began drinking every day. A year went by before I smoked again. I remember that one time I must have had 18 big hits and I remember feeling my chest because of a "phantom" pain around my heart. Another year goes by before I smoke again. This time I'm drinking less, but I am taking vitamin supplements (most notably 300 percent vitmain C), and milk thistle for liver function.
Now I've always had some issues with anxiety, but never quite this bad. So this one time I smoke 2 small hits, and ONE HUGE ASS hit. A bigger hit than I had probably ever smoked before.
Immediately I go into a panic attack. I didn't know what it was until later, so naturally I thought I was gonna die for several hours. Now I'm pretty sure this stuff wasn't laced. I never got green so I know they didn't switch the bowl on me, and everyone else smoked it and did fine.
So for a few months after this I had severe issues with panic attacks, gradually they disappeared. Now I'll get one in a rare high stress situation but it dies down very quickly.
Nowadays I get alot of vitamins naturally instead of through pills. I get roughly 600 percent of the recommended amount of vit. C, and 200 percent of vitamin E in my orange juice. And I recently began taking 3 teaspoons of flaxseed oil daily, which have nullified my depression, taken away my fatigue issues and lowered my overall anxiety a whole lot.
My goal is to be normal around weed again. I'd like to smoke it one more time just to prove to myself that I beat this, but I don't know how. Everytime I smell it or am anywhere near it I freak out and go into panic mode. It sucks big time, my social life is ruined because of it.
So I'm supposed to be getting drunk with some old friends tonight and am wondering if the high amount of vitamin C or other vitamins, or even the flaxseed would somehow make the weed more intense, or make it dangerous because of interacting!?!
Had anyone else had panic attacks because of weed? I really just want to be normal around pot again and not schiz out.
Sorry for the lengthy post. Thanks for replies!

well... for me... i used to get panic attacks when i smoked in the cold... i cut back on my smoking, and wouldnt smoke from late october untill about march...
but that seems to have stopped... it is also advised, in a spiritual-medical book i've read, not to take certian drugs in certian weather conditions...
cold = much more potent
warm = good
hot = less potent
and i think moisture conditions also greatly impact this.

The only time I've had panic attack on weed, was because I was taking a seizure medicine (experimental, meant to help something else) and a muscle-relaxer, and I didn't really have a panic-attack as much as trip out, but, I guess, it depends on how you look at it.

It is the CDB's the cannabis that stop the panic-attack !!!
(CBG)
(CBC)
(CBD)
(CBA)
(THC)
6 cannabigerols (CBG), the first cannabinoids formed as the plant matures. They have anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and sedative properties.
5 cannabichromenes (CBC), most abundant in crops from parts of Africa. CBC is also anti-inflammatory and sedative.
7 cannabidiols (CBD), most abundant in the indica species (hash plant). Often called nonpsychoactive, CBD actually balances THC??s mental stimulation with its mild sedative-hypnotic effect. It also has antiepileptic, anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxant, antianxiety, immune-balancing, and pain-relieving properties. Its acid form, cannabidiolic acid (CBA), is a potent antibiotic and possibly an antiviral agent. The 7 cannabidiols are accompanied by their oxidized and depotentized (??burnt-out?) forms, called the cannabinodiols.

Unless you have a vitamin deficency there is no reason to take vitamin pills. It's all a bunch of bullshit. Like yoga, stretching doesn't help or hinder you. It's all hype. Also chiropractors are a scam as well. Just felt I should clear that up.

I'm not into debate about this, but if something helps someone even if someone else thinks its crap, then why get down on it? It may be that vitamins, yoga and chiropractic don't work or maybe its the IDEA of it working that works for people.
Lots of us with real diseases rely on some of this stuff and for us, it does work, even if it is in our heads. So don't just trash everything unless you do have extensive research to back you up.

Yes I am a hypocondriac. Yeah I agree about just needing to chill out.
It's funny a couple of times when I was drunk enough to not give a shit I walked into a room that had been hotboxed and didn't think twice about it.
It's hard to diffuse it though, it's so subconscious sometimes. It's a bitch.

Yeah stop stressing dude. I used to smoke heaps then cut down to weekend evenings only. You really do lose your immunity to it. What I used to smoke in 2 weeks has lasted me for 2 years and I still have heaps left. Sounds like you are smoking too much. Just mull up like 0.05 of a gram with 2 ciggys and have a few light pipes. Sit back and relax watching a comedy and next thing you'll know you'll be giggling your arse off and craving chocolate. :) If you start panicing just go and take a 15min walk. Fresh air and exercise cures all.

Actually I haven't smoked one hit since then and that was nearly a year ago when I had that attack. Nearly everytime I've been around it since then I go into panic mode again. I wasn't smoking alot at all then either when it happened.
I think first I'm gonna get in a room and breathe some second hand and see how I do, then kinda slowly work my way back in.
I don't necessarily want to go back to my old smoking days, but I'd love to be able to smoke one more time atleast to prove I fixed this issue.
Thanks for all the replies!

You sound like quite the healthy guy plague (lol I like the irony of the name). I drink homemade fruit or vegetable juice daily. I usually take vitamin C and Zinc as far as non-intoxicating pills. I usually excercise as well.
