Nearly 900 vehicles were torched and over 250 people arrested on Saturday as French authorities feared those behind the country's worst rioting for decades were becoming organized.

Deprived suburbs with large immigrant populations on the fringes of Paris were again the scene of the worst of the rampages, which largely took the form of hit-and-run arson attacks.

AWWWWWWWWW!!!!! Didn't ol' boy Chirac hold to the belief that if he left the Iraqis and the middle eastern Moslums alone it would basically make France immune from this type of action? Guess that didn't work! BIG OL' BITCH SLAP TO FRANCE!!!

Keep up the fine job of protecting your people Chirac....your grand plan is working flawlessly!!!

France has the distinction of perfecting the guillotine. They should dust some off, oil 'em up, and put them back into use.

But since then it has become a challenge to the authority of the government and a protest against the dismal economic prospects, rampant discrimination and heavy-handed policing that the youth in the suburbs suffer.

that's from the article.
thia has nothing to do w/ iraq or terrorism.
we've all heard about the major fires that have broken out in over-populated housing over the past year.
this is a bout people being pissed at the french authorities.
one mention in that article about muslims, and the immediate assumption is that the violence is about the war in iraq.

It's bad when you can assume exactly what one member of this forum will end up posting on a board. Tholiak is a god damn Troll, contributing nothing of any value to this website.
He's racist
He's dumb
And he replies to stuff with the intent to be a dick..

Rest assured, people like Tholiak do not stay here long.

Rioting is pretty ridiculous but i'd hardly hold it against France, it happens everywhere. New Orleans showed just how incapable the American public are of holding it together in a time of crisis, with all due respect, I wouldn't point fingers.

Hmmm, upon getting deeply lean, I can now see that that's complete bullshit. Apologies.

Your comparing a natural disaster area to people rioting against their government? Oh yah, I can see that!
