I would hypothesize it is because they find most of the threads monotonous, infantile and insipid thus are not inclined to post.

I've always wondered (not a dig at you, btw) why people that hardly ever posted before modship, became mods. I'd have thought regular posters would make good mod material as they are guaranteed to be here all the time! :rasta:
