Yeah, definately sounds like you need to do a lot of homework before you start. Don't jump into it unless you feel 100% ready. Knowledge and secrecy are the keys to successful indoor cultivation. Buy a few books and study up until you are growing and thinking about cannabis knowledge in your dreams. Then you will be ready to produce some mind warping buds. :)
www.overgrow.com has a great grow FAQ site, that is loaded with information. Check it out.

ok, i just turned 17, therefore i still live with the parents. i need to know how to grow in my closet without them knowing. is that possible? also, can someone explain to me what cloning of a plant is and what the stages are and also how to harvest in detail? saw, id appreciate your input, because you seem to know what you're doing.

Hey I'm not an expert, so my advice would be to check out the growFAQ at www.overgrow.com they have loads of quality information! You will be able to find specific information on clonning and explanations on almost any grow questions you have. As for a closet setup Ed Rosenthal has a great book called The Closet Cultivator that covers everything you need to know including security. I actually need to pick up that book as well. :)

I ain't no expert, but security fears are reasonable problems.
I just bought a house on my own, but my mom is being a pain sometimes dropping in unannounced, but promises shes going to stop.
Anyways, I'm gonna get some security anyways in the form of odour stoppers.
Now like I said, I'm no expert, but I'll tell you what I've grasped, by reading about on forums, info pages, ebay, google, the usual! :D
(In terms of effectivness from crap to good)
Now, you can get those glade plug an fresh things, although this is a bad way to go, because they just produce another smell.
Also, deoderant, just produces another smell, pretty useless, but if you need to cover a smell real quick, then give it a go.
There are "ionizers" these send out positively charged ions, that will convert many forms of gas (including smells) into harmless o2+co2 (oxygen and carbon-dioxide) but, the top quality ones cost a bomb, and the needle's need replacing at a cost!
Then, there are carbon filters, these go over an extractor fan, so if you was sucking air in and out of your closet, this would probably be the easiest thing for you, but it is EXPENSIVE! at least in my opinion, but they apparently get rid of 99% of odours.
Finally, what appears to me, to be the best, are Ozone makers, these kinda create a "mini ozone layer" in a large area. converting everything to o2+co2 these are going on ebay, the last one I saw sold for $15 in a last minute bid!
They run off a standard plug, and don't appear to need anything replacing, they send out negatively charged ions and do the same stuff as ionizers, but.......
I don't think they need replacing / filters, but am unsure on this.
Hope this kinda helps mate!

On a side note, ozone is dangerous to your health in large quantites, it uses UV light and adds molecoules to the air. so be sure to have this filtering your air, to an extraction unit of some sort

Commertially available Ozone generators are quite safe, you don't need to filter the air, and they are the best long term option although the good ones can be expensive. And if you're old enough to buy your own home buy a door lock for the grow room and tell mom to mind her own business or grow in the loft.
