marijuana and accutane

ahoy i have been and going to the dermatoligist for acne releted issues and was thinking about trying a drug called accutane. For those of u who dont know its like the best of the best of acne medicine but is also dangerous i guess cuz it gives you depression. and i would have to get my blood drawn every month and i was wondering if it would be a bad idea to smoke and be on the medication and if they would test for drugs on the monthly blood test because if u use this medicine u have to use it for like 20 weeks and thats an awful long time to not smoke. any ideas or suggestions would be apreciated

Accutane is synthetic vitamin A, it shrinks the pores on your skin...and is not just dangerous to you for depression..
The reason they check your blood every month is bcause they are monitoring your liver... accutane can cause liver problems because taking vitamin A at large doses is extremely toxic and people have died. I was on accutane and thankfully I still have a functioning liver, but I have had friends with worse news...
while I was taking Accutane I didnt know anything about it.. all I knew was I was like everybody else and I worried about how i looked even tho my acne wasnt that bad.. little did I know that after that period of my life I would "outgrow" acne.. anyway, looking back on it for me I wouldnt redo it...

I used to take accutane and it did make me feel depressed for a little while, as others say.. the damage it could possibly do to your liver isn't worth the risk, i went to my regular doctor (instead of a dermotologist) and i use Retin A Micro now (a topical cream) and it has cleared up my acne a lot.. i would reccomend asking your doctor for this and try it first BEFORE you make the giant leap to Accutane as that is a pretty big step forward. It's up to you though but this is my advise speaking from experience. I didn't like the way i felt on accutane, thats all. Hope this helps you.

I was wondering this aswell. I'm going to start going to blood tests for accutane also. Someone I know told me that they won't test for that, he said that he got baked 2 hours before the test and they didn't mention anything to him. I don't know if it could of been they didn't tell him because he lived on his own like maybe it would be a different story if they had his parent their to tell him/her about finding thc in their blood, but who knows!? Some clarification would be great on this :)

Jagged when you took accutane were u smoking at the same time? because i read that marijuana and accutane can have bad effects togethor and smoking hurts you liver too right

I was on accutane for while also (was smoking regularly) I didn't really notice anything. And the people testing my blood never said anything about thc or testing for any other drug, so I'd think your safe...but you never know. I did however not like the affects of accutane. It drys up your face face a lot (for me it did) and your lips get chapped and what not. My opinion: didn't like it, got off it real quick.
