People who think that weed is legal in Amsterdam are just poorly informed, it isn't legal, it's decriminalized(basically, it's tolerated).

Well, I didn't believe it either but here it is:
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1135AP_Denver_Marijuana.html
Although that's just a city ordinance, and state law still applies, so they're not out of the clear yet. But that means city law enforcement will look away.

Its only a matter of time guys...only a matter of time...These are small steps in the right direction....hopefully more cities will follow....It will be taxed like alcohol and will be legal just like alcohol as soon as the Bush administration gets the hell outta there. I give it 10 years and it will be legal in the USA.

I think cost will either skyrocket or plummet dramatically. This could go both ways. I mean, think about how easy it will be to go to the store and buy weed, but think about how much the government will tax. $40 for a pack of Marlboro Green.

now now it is still illeagal to sell and grow and it applies to the same rules as alcohol but it wont be taxed trust me i live here next year tho safer is going to go for it taxed maybe if it passes.

 I would pay $40 for a pack of Greens. Thats how much, 30 ciggs per pack. And you know companies are only going to put dank bud in there.

So, what`s next? The city voters pass a law where adults 21 and over can possess maryjane up to an ounce.... BUT State law still applies, which means you can still get in trouble for carring maryjane?? So.. are they now planning on having the entire state to vote in order to change the state law or what?? How can we check if this is happening in our own city or state we live in???

Hell yeah! Love to see stuff like this happen.
If any city were to fully decriminalize marijuana, the first will definetly be Las Vegas.

Whatever the case, it will have to be cheaper than the street price, or people just won't buy it. And you know how powerful the cig companies are, they'd raise all hell if the taxes got out of hand.

if cigg companies actually did start making weed ciggs nd shit in like the future if it was fully legalized think about all the chemicals there would be in it. i would rathere jus buy it as weed.
and i'd say 5-10 years before its fully legalized through out the country maybe longer

Under the measure, residents over 21 years old could possess up to an ounce of marijuana. Netscape.com (http://channels.netscape.com/news/story.jsp?idq=/ff/story/0001/20051102/0740807644.htm)

In most states in Australia you are alowed to grow and use it in your own house.
I think it's like 3 plants in South Australia, 7 plants in Western Australia etc.

So I guess Denver, CO is the first place to have legal MJ? Nice... I'm moving to Denver where the majority thinks alike. Can't wait for the RedRocks Line-up next year! :rasta:

I live in colo springs and saw the article in the paper this morning in second period (figures i was high) yes its a good step in the right direction but there are some major problems. State and federal law still applies, so its really easy to get fucked over. Also only an ounce or less can be in possesion, for people 21 and over.

MISUNDERSTANDING!!!
MARIJUNANA IS STILL ILLEGAL TO POSSESS AND USE IN ALL OF THE STATE OF COLORADO INCLUDING DENVER Even though I-100 passed. This means that if state officers or the DEA want to be dicks..they can arrest anybody and everybody in Denver. It is still against state and federal law.

It's only a "City Ordinance"

I cant believe it. its too good to be true. sure its leagal to posess but if u sat infront of the police station with a joint in one hand at 27 grams in the other, i think youd get arrested. its just too good to be true. not to discourage anyone, this is definatly a step in the right direction but i still think cops would bust you for blazin in public.

^^hes right too, this is not a time to relax but to bear down and fight twice as hard. the people are finally BEGINNING to understand that maryjana isnt gona killl you, or ruin your life. this isnt over. just a sign that our attempts arent being wasted. LEGALIZE!!!! KEEP FIGHTING!!!!

I've got a great plan...
We get everyone from this site to go to the same state for like a week or something and say we live there... then do a majority vote about weed being legallized in that state. After we conquer one state we'll just move to another for a while. It'll be like a giant travelling band of stoners.
I'm not serious.. but that would be cool.

When I was alot younger I used to hear the same about Alaska. You could legally grow and use your own bud but not sell it. If that's the case in Australia, then I'd rather move there than Amsterdam!
