Hi folks. im working on a school project in the effects of the globalisation on africa and poverty.
anyway i was wondering why does the african farmers doesnt sell their products to their own population (coz we know that the economy of africa is principaly based on food and primary ressources).
so anyway if they produce that much food (well "that much", lets say its subjective), why do they export it when it is so expensive due to the shipment of it plus the taxes to pay to export, which can go up to 50-60% of taxes?
this is a question i cant answer. and how can the north countries sell their extra production to the south countries if they are so poor? how can the population of the south country would buy from those transnational companies instead of encouraging local producers?
anyway if u have any info related to this, or good sites presenting the good effects as well as the bad effects of globalisation, it would be GREATLY appreciated
thx!
