By beginning this thread i'm hoping to learn a little more about growing sativas and want to share the knowledge with everyone else on this post. I just recieved my seeds and have them in germination right now, soon to sprout. Once they begin to sprout I will move them to my aeroponic system. My setup consists of a 400w HPS(flower) and a 400w MH conversion(veg). I am limited on space so I have a rubbermaid-like container with 6 pots containing hydroton as my growing medium. The reservoir/tank holds the nutrients in the bottom and uses a pump that pushes it to two micro misters which spray the roots and has one hole shooting water back down into the 'reservoir section' to keep the nutrients mixed up and adds oxygen as well. Ill post pics after i post this thread to give a better understanding. I have about 3' deep and about 5' wide with 4' height from the top of the setup to the highest point i can raise my light. I have the walls wrapped with mylar and use the GH flora series(micro, grow, bloom). My main question is when to start the flowering stage? As a general rule sativas are taller so should I start flowering cycle whenever the plants are around 1.5' tall? If anyone has any input for this thread it would be GREATLY appreciated by me and many others im sure. -ANY- information regarding the GF strain or any other sativas would be great. Thanks!

Hi Dude, if you only have 4' You should start early 4 to 5 nodes. I have a 400 hps too and about the space. I am just now understanding that you get the same thing from a 12'' to 18'' plant as you would from a 3' tree. You need to grow indica's. Unless you do a scrog. When you grow top light only you light the top 1/3rd . 1' or 3' doesn't matter. Seems like you woud get more but your only going to get what your light can maintain. Sativa's are tall and you need side lighting. What are you germinating ? Can you keep it cool ? I have a thread of my first grow not too far back give it a look.. I'm upgrading my light and going sog I got every thing coming together and will do a thread. Share some pic's it helps. I just saw the top new grow grapefruit. If I'm not mistaken that is a mostly indica strain I almost got it but did not have the bucks ,oh well. IT stays really short from pic's I've seen.

You need to put that in 12/12 about 7-10days after they pop.I would recommend using 11hrs. on 13 off, being that strain is 90% sativa.According to femaleseeds it will finish about 60cm if you follow that rule.Anything taller than that you'll probably want to cull. They also state that strain is a little unstable.

Nice, nice buds for a sativa, i think. I like skunk special also, very short plant good for sog, no need to top them.

yeah very nice. when i opened the Grapefruit pack(drchronic, femaleseeds.nl) 2 of them were crushed =( so now i have 2 that germinated successfully. therefor, i popped open the Cinnamon(drchronic, femaleseeds.nl) packet and have those 4 in germination now. heh so this will be very interesting. i popped open some more mostly sativa seeds so i can start flowering extremely early and keep em on an 11/13 since im limited with height. i bought some green pruning scissors as well ;P . anyone ever had any experience with this cinnamon strain? i almost tried a nevilles haze, probably should have but the cinnamon sparked my interest. next time i plan on growin a mixture or indicas.. not sure what strains. maybe a few bubblicious and some white widow. the input was very helpful, thanks guys.
