Well the day has finally come, after researching and reading about growing for about 2 months today I am planting 5 northern berry seeds, in the little peat pots, just with some sterilized soil. Then i will put in 1 gallon pots for their complete veg, until they show sex then i will transplant the females into 3 gallon pots. For the first week or so i am using 2 40 watt fluoro shop lights, then when the 400W MH gets here (along with some other goodies from insidesun) i will hook that up and use 4 40 watt cool tubes as supplemental on the sides. The soil mix will be about 30% pearlite, 60% soil then 10% high nitrogen bat guano. I will be watering with superthrive, and nestle spring water. All help will be appreciated.

I have heard that not using exhaust and intake ventilation can really stunt growth. I am just using a fan... would it be a good decision to invest some time and money into designing some kind of system? What kind of pump do you need to use with a carbon scrubber?

If you do a search in the cultivation threads there's a real cool doc on how to build your own carbon scrubber. I can't remember who wrote it but its basicly made out of a little wood, filters that you can get at Wall Mart and activated carbon or charcoal that you can get at fish stores.
Oh yea, and a "fart fan" :) Which was the authors term for a bathroom fan.

sentinel... fresh air means freash C02... co2 means, faster growth, bigger plants, potential for faster turn around (quicker maturation of buds)
PLANTS need C02 : )

all 6 seedlings have sprouted and are under 24 hour fluorescent light, being water with 2 small lidfuls a day twice a day. Still in peat pots, no ventilation.

watch that watering. iknow youy want tehm to grow and water seems like it willonly help but you could basicly drown them. it's better to water every other day while they are seedlings and onely the start to get goingng cut back even more.
