Since someone already started a thread on mood music, I thought I'd make one specific for this group because they deserve it.

Anyone else still know that the Spin Docs were still around? Man, I think Chris Barron, the singer, temporarily lost his voice for a couple of years and they broke up, but I've always been into their stuff because it's just good rock/pop. Plus, all the guys can really jam, especially their drummer.

I also read at Universal a month ago that they had just released a new record, a return to their Pocket Full of Kryptonite form, and Chris has his voice back, too. Last picture I saw of him was beardless, too, which is a shame, but you gotta do what you gotta do. If anyone else wants to download some free mp3s of some of their blues stuff or a couple of tracks off the CD, their forum on spindoctors.com provides them.

I really dig Can't Kick The Habit because it's kind of a laid back soul/bluesy jam, but the upbeat stuff is great, too.

Yeah, I figured someone would appreciate the thread. I think I was in high school when they were really popular, and I'm an old man now (well, you said you were 26, so we're old men). Didn't even know if the younger crowd would recognize their name, laugh.

Yeah, I guess that was a hasty assumption.

Guns 'N' Roses is due out with a new album in March of next year.

"Don't you, try to call me maybe, Oh, Just go ahead now.
And if you'd like to call me baby, just go ahead now." Or something like that.

Hasty indeed! The nerve.

jk, that actually happens all the time. My fault for not coming up with a girlier moniker. Maybe a change of the avatar might do the trick...turtles and snails can also confuse people sometimes, right? :error: Maybe I should use Paint and put a pink bow or something on my turtle, rosey up the cheeks some...put in a poodle somewhere, maybe...so many possibilities.

Of course they are! Whitesnake wasn't heard from in a longer time and then, all of a sudden, you hear about a fire and chaos at one of their concerts in a little club, in Connecticut.

Cool, nobody does it better than me.

RoadKing, do you know anything about that WhiteSnake concert in Connecticut? Didn't the drummer get shot, or something? Or a fire from a pyrotechnics' accident?

edit: The first time I ever played that song, for a band, they didn't know what to do. Maybe I should've muted my strings more.

There was an incident in Rhode Island (http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/Northeast/02/21/deadly.nightclub.fire/) ...an incident in Ohio (http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/12/09/nightclub.shooting/) ...and another in Connecticut (http://www.hartfordhistory.net/circusfire.html) ....

Great White in Rhode Island, I was thinking of. Not,
WhiteSnake in Connecticut. That Ohio one was the other crazy one I was thinking of.
You went back quite a while to get that Connecticut one. I remember that as I was developing genes through my grandfather's nut-sack.

Lol, no, I wish though -- if I could play guitar like that I would probably could have become a professional musician. I'm just a long time fan, there's actually quite a few of us up in Northern California (even though they're from the East Coast). Maybe it's all the KRON up here, heh.

I realize that a lot of people remember them for that Two Princes song, which ain't bad, but their jams are great -- they have that ability to take bluesy jam rock and make it catchy.

The incident in Rhode Island was "Great White". Another 80's hair metal band.

Their pyrotechnics display sent fire to the club and alot of people died.

Dimebag Darrell was shot recently.
