Hi,

If your friend re-pot these plants at this stage it may not be a good idea since the plants could suffer from transplant shock, stunt and stop flowering (budding) for at least a week or 2... plus, if they are rooted in the ground outdoor your going to break alot of roots and plants will suffer alot and perhaps you could only get the yield that these currently has and thats it :/
I don't know about weather in Cali, but i guess you could let them finish outdoor without much problem as long as the nights arent falling below 55F for the next month.

Rule of thumb: Never transplant when flowering/budding as begun.

Hope this help! ;)

Good Luck & Happy Harvest! :D

Like i said if temp isnt going to fall below 55F or at the most 50F he should be ok to finish them without problem because the sun is still good in Cali on winter ;)
