Astronomy Picture of the Day! <---cool place to learn a little about outer space
I LOVE astronomy and physics, it is sort of an obsessive hobby of mine. I took an 'intro to astro' class freshmen year and ive been hooked ever since. I spend endless hours in the library reading anything that has to do with astronomy. Space is so baffling, i love it!
that's amazing. i wonder if there's any life-forms in that galaxy?

yeah but....wtf go back in time far enough and ur left with a singularity from which everything erupted, which no scientist can explain
now that would make a jaw-dropping image, wouldn't it?

your damn right it would...i find this topic fascinating aswell...
Whenever i think about space and the universe and shit when i'm stoned i always end up in a wierd thought-chain wondering what the fuck is out there, and why the fuck are we all on this little rock, aimlessly spinning around? Deep shit! Man i'm stoned, i used to have a telescope when i was 10, it was a crap one, and to this day i dont know if i was looking at the moon, or a distant lampost, it was just an orangey blur, amazing i'm sure you'll agree.
supposedly, we were put on this planet because god wanted people to worship him, and since he didn't want to put that in everyone's mind to begin with, he gave us free will, to choose to worship him. what a gentlemen!
it makes you think about the reason there is no life found in the universe. maybe god destroyed all the other life-inhibiting planets because they chose wrong, and those who chose correct lived in heaven with him? thinking about god, and whether or not his existence is real, is also a very deep subject...
yeah, but they've found evidence that there was life on mars, all be it some simple single cell thingy, but if the conditions were right it may have evolved into some other form of life. Now for us to have the only inhabitable little piece of rock in the whole universe is a bit far fetched, somewhere out there must be conditions not dissimilar to our own, where life is flourishing, or has flourished and died.
We cannot possibly be the only ones here.
what do you think would have caused all the other planets in our solar system, to obtain the ecosystem that they have? that's strange, also.
its like a snooker table, or a game of marbles, its just rocks n stuff floating about, bouncing off each other and it depends on where they end up as to what happens!
