Ok, this is my first grow, is it alright to use a 400W HPS light to veg my plants, im thinkin about growin 4 - 5 so that im hopefully left with 2-3 females.
Or should i use CFls, if so how many CFL lights will i need, would say 5, 20W cool white CFLs be fine for vegging?
As well when should i switch to my HPS light

The HPS with a growlux bulb can veg & flower your plants. Just upgrade your bulb and have fun.

I've got a Growlux 400 w hps.. can a veg with that to? I already planed on doing that, but if you guys think it's good, I'll definatly do it!:D

wouldnt it be even better to just get the MH convertion bulb for veg? its about 40bucks ----Zandor

I think 400w conversion bulbs are more money then that. If you can afford one sure but the hortilux enhanced spectrum are designed for a all in one grow bulb vegetation and flower from one bulb.

Wow right on dude thanks for the link, that is cheap. I see they have regular HPS on sale too for 27.50.
