Can you get a virus, trojan or backdoor? Can things automatically get into your computer when you open and email? I use yahoo and sometimes I get weird ass emails from unknown people (not spam) but I delete them. Just one I got today was "MUST READ IMMEDIATLY" i'm like... no...

Yeah it can happen. But usually it will include a link directing you to a website and when you click it then you get a virus or worm. Or it will ask you go dl something that it says you "need" in order to be able to view the website. Never open mail unless it's from someone you know.

make sure u have both a firewall and anti-virus on your pc, and they must be "live updated" frequently, and make sure the virus scanner scans incoming e-mails for u, another tip is to make sure your "preview" pane is disabled in "outlook" express, it's poss' for a trojan/virus to sneak in that way even though the e-mail is not properly opened.
i get incoming e-mails blocked on a regular basis,
my msn account is full of e-mails from peeps i don't know, but they are usually in the "junk" folder anyway.

e mails can be evil plus trojans are one of the easiest virus to enter your pc,,even easier if u hav shared files/disks.
(your printer folder will be shared btw)

Yup, some spam can give you a backdoor...especially the ones that say as a subject, "NASTY ASIAN ANAL CUMSHOTS"...now THAT's a backdoor
