I'm no drug expert, but this pissed me off a little. me & my friend were having a conversation that started with me asking what kind of pills would she be having at her party. It went a bit like this:
me-what kind of pills are you having at your party?
her-coricidins
me-coricidins! you can't get those anywhere i thought you meant real pills damn
her-coricidins are whats going to be there
me-aw you know they have all these extra ingredients?? why don't you just take robitussin
her-no robitussin can kill you!! my friend took robitussin & she started throwing up
me-you can't die from it unless you take like 10 bottles (ok not true but anyway)
her-yes it can
me-no coricidin's the one with all the extra ingredients!!!
her-coricidins are the ones that make you hallucinate, robitussin doesn't
me-NO THATS THE DXM IN IT!! robitussin has dxm coricidins just have extra stuff in it, but robitussin has JUST dxm

no offense but your friend is a fuckin idiot. if it's going to be a lot of people i can almost gaurentee someone's going to push their limits and wind up in the hospital...and her friend threw up for a reason....more than likely because of the G word i ngredient that's in some of them. which isn't a bad thing....just becasue you throw up don't mean it's going to kill you...if i was going to do this type of shit anymore i'd rather overdose on robitussin and puke (cuz that's what your really doing) then take tripple c's, not puke and have my body shut down....you know i don't like being a little bitch or a snitch..but if you really care about your friend you'll go and call some type of authority (police, even mom just something to intervene)

DXM does not cause damage to your body to get you high. I can't think of any legitimate psychoactive that does. Claiming that it does only serves to further Government propaganda. Psychoactives work by altering your brain chemistry, not by killing cells.

Coricidin was killing you because you were taking an overdose of the antihistamine contained within the product. Antihistamines, UNLIKE LEGITAMITE PSYCHOACTIVES, may in fact cause damage to your body to produce their effects. Had you been consuming something without the extra active ingredients you would have been much better off.

2 boxes of CCC's and half a case of Smirnoff Ice PER DAY? Come on man. You're putting all of that poison into your body daily and you want to blame the DXM?

im almost 100% sure the reason coricidin fucks you up more than products with just dxm is because the cpm in it is a anti-histamine(s/p?) and when you overdose on most anti-histamines it leads to delusional sometimes pyscotic behavior
the same enzyme that breaks down the dxm breaks up the cpm in coricidin thats the main reason its so dangerous, and you could die if you take enough cause your liver doesnt have enough of the enzyme to break all the chemicals up and your liver shuts down. so i wouldnt say the fucked up feeling you get is actually you 'dying' , its just the interaction of the cpm with the dissaccociative effects of dxm.

but i still agree its a dangerous drug, but its not the death-wish drug its hyped up to be, ive seen tons of people on it and i used to use it and the worse ive seen is a brief psycotic episode or bad trip none resulting in a hospital visit.

that's what i'm saying...i'm not saying dxm does that....it's that extra shit in tripple c's....that thing at normal doses is fine, because your body CAN handle at that point breaking it down and passing it t hrough...it's w hen you go taking 20, 30 or even 40 times the ammount that's too much that it causes problesm.....let me clarify...dxm is just fine..i've found no info to suggest even at 700-1000 mg doses does it have any REAL harm on your body (but i'm sure taking it all the time and alot can't be too good for you either) matter of fact i tell people that if they wanna do tripple c's type of drugs to get a bottle of 'tussin with only active as dxm.....i'll try to find the article that stated and described from a medical stand point (there are multipes that i've seen so i'm pretty sure what i have said is true) why tripple c's are dangerous.....

and yea, of course it's not ....when is anything that's considered 'abusing drugs' not severely overly elaborated? it is dangerous...and i know there wasn't that many deaths of it being reported when it was underground type of shit but still popular among the right crowds....but it's been awhile and the people that started even months ago have to take more and more by this point...i started off at 8 pills every few days, half a box....by the end of my 2 month tripple c career i was taking 32-40 every day and i still wasn't getting as strong of effects by this time.....that's what leads it to be deadly becasue the high is so amazing it's so hard to say no to it ....and it only gets worse the more and more you do it....it's just safer to stay away from them...
