Nanak was the founder of the Sikh religion and the first of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism. Tradition says that Guru Nanak made four great journeys to all parts of India, Arabia and Persia. He preached to Muslims and Hindus alike, imploring them to seek a truer path to God through good deeds and introspection, not simply adherence to the letter of their faiths.

happy birthday, guru nanak! if only there were more men like him...
i was thinking about death, earlier and it came to me - how do i want to leave this world? do i want to be buried under dirt, six feet under? cremated? i was unsure, but after reading this information, it put it into perspective for me. being cremated would ensure my body doesn't remain on earth, but to be carried on with my spirit, that's the way i want to go.
