View Full Version : just how close should my light be from my plants

i have 1 1000w hps and about seven plants.also how many days should i keep em growing before flowering.i started the seeds in a paper towel on sep 25.as of today they are about 6 inches tall i am using regular soil and watering by hand.they are on 24\0 sched.

at least a foot away the plants will still be very delicate i imagine change the schedule to 18/4 as plants take up oxygen during the dark periods also gives your light a rest and time for the room to cool down

Well, depending on your temp. If it is in the lower 70's then i would suggest it to be about 2-2 1/2 for now . . . as they get used to it I would lower it. And only use 24/0 when you are in the seedling/cutting stage, plants do the most of there veg. growing in their dark cycle.

When they get a little bigger you can use your hand under the light and judge the heat at the height you want to try it.Its a good judge.And like the man said,,dont forget the fan.-usdi Agaluga
