Here is a link to an interesting article on a new study assessing the cancer risks between cannabis and tobacco smoke.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4350642.stm

The paper doesn't say cannabis smoke is harmless, but points out that it appears to be less likely to cause cancer than tobacco smoke. In fact, there seems to be evidence that THC can in fact inhibit cancer growht in certain doses. It is only one study though and obviously more research will be needed, but these results do go against a lot of current belief/propaganda. Hopefully more research will be following.

It's a great read; I agree it's going to need more research for it to make any proper hit that's needed.

I always kind of assumed that it was less harmful than tobacco because marijuana is grown horticulturally, that is by hand, while tobacco is manufactured with added chemicals, using Mechanical agriculture.

Now im glad they finally have proof that weed's not more harmful, but the government will probably still tell kids that smoking one joint is the same thing as smoking a whole pack of cigarettes.
