showtime is going to be airing the festival express on their network. for those of you who don't know what that is, it's the grateful dead, janis joplin, the band and much more bands who all got on the 'festival express' and freighted around the canadian border playing music, doing drugs, and having the most righteous time imaginable. i've been wanting to see the film, and it's finally coming to cable. this friday, at 9:30 p.m. be sure your tuned in to showtime for one of the greatest musical adventures of the seventies.

It's an awesome documentary, with also the Buddy Guy Blues Band, Flying Burrito Brothers, Sha Na Na and some other bands I hadn't heard of. The best part was when they stopped at a small liquor store and completely cleaned it out including a giant bottle of Canadian whiskey. Then some unknown individual (probably from the Grateful Dead camp) spiked it with LSD and then Joplin, Garcia, Weir and Robertson (or was it Danko?) got good and high and jammed out Going Down The Road Feeling Bad.

Hey, if you're ever in Jackson Tennessee, stop into the Casey Jones Restaurant. Jackson is where Casey lived before he wrecked that train. They've got an excellent buffet in there. Deep fried chicken livers too.

all music is subject to interpretation, but the music back then had much more meaning than the tunes nowadays. i like being able to sit down and listen to a song and interpret meanings upon meanings. with the music today it's like the musicians target only a certain group of feelings, situations, and problems and it doesn't reach everyone. it seems that the modern music is subjected to stereotype. anyone agree?

i agree with you, ousted. all those "premium" channels aren't worth the money we pay for them. i've had better luck finding a show i want to watch with basic cable.

Awesome, thanks.

Im finding it more and more difficult to be interested in movies at all anymore. Regular television has gotten so good, even if I want to see a certain movie, I check to see what's on tv just incase, cuz I know I'd rather watch something on tv. It's not unusual for me to have a movie rental for weeks at a time before I get around to watching it. I have no idea why I would waste my money on a premium movie channel given my viewing habits, lol.

personally, i think all movies that are aired on premium channels, or any channel for that matter, should be included with a trailer beforehand. my viewing habits aren't outstanding, either. i'll flip through the channels, find a familiar movie and watch it for about thirty minutes or so. give me cartoon network, discovery, science, and the cooking network and i'll be straight.
