When we die, if there's nothing, then in order for us to enter into nothingness, don't we have to cross some sort of border to get there? And if there's a border to cross that surrounds nothing, then doesn't that make nothing something?
Does "nothing" exist?

I think nothing describes an absence of something just as darkness describes an absence of light.

Your bones still exist. The question is, "Is there really a soul?"

if u think theres absolutly nothing after your life, it means u think you are only made of bones and material
then if your only an "object" why would u live anyway? i think theres somthing after life, coz if there wouldnt be sumthing, we wouldnt be there
i think our real essence, the real life, which is our soul, is a completly different thing from the body
when you die its only the death of your material part. anyway thats what i think
P.S. wrong forum

your question has presupositions that we must clarify...
i love you...
there is no such thing as Nothing... it is just a "tool" to understand something... that's what words do.. they box things up and seperate them from the WHOLE.. we call this UNDERSTANDING....
Just like there are no BORDERS... just another word.. just another signafier... another way to understand something... the word BORDER is a concept used to seperate the whole...
Imagine a pond.. it has a real murky bottom that the slighest pebble can stir up and make the whole pond cloudy...
Well you are this pond and your thoughts are big stones being tossed into it.. these stones make your pond a murky mess..
The murky stuff at the bottom is other peoples thoughts...
Let other peoples thoughts just BE... just let that murk sit at the bottom
And if you watch the stones being thrown into your pond.. you will soon realize,, they are not stones... and then you won't have murk...
i love you
We are not our thoughts... we are awarenss,,, but because we have given this awareness to our thoughts/mind we have become our thoughts/mind by default..
become awareness.. and thoughts can't exist.. No more stones..
How do we get our awareness back... well you don't.. you are awareness..
How do we become aware that we are awareness...?
i love you

If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am 'nothing'

hey garden i think what you said really filled me up with love, no wonder u love everyone so much! ;)
but anyways, I always relate death and nothing to the 1800, back when none of us was born. Of course there were many things around back then, but we did not have the awareness that garden was talking about.

Thanks for giving us the "run-around", ladder-Alice.
White is, also, colorless. So is green to my Grandmother.
"Is "nothing" really "something?" "
You hear nothing. Nothing IS silence.
You see nothing. Nothing IS empty.
You feel nothing. Nothing IS smooth.
You taste nothing. Nothing doesn't have a taste.
You smell nothing. That's when you pollute the air with weed-smoke.
You sense nothing. There are no problems.
