Microsoft Collaborates With Global Police to Develop Child Exploitation Tracking System for Law Enforcement Agencies
Plea to Bill Gates results in two-year collaboration to develop, roll out system.

TORONTO -- April 7, 2005 (http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2005/apr05/04-07CETSPR.mspx) -- Microsoft Corp. joined international law enforcement agencies today to unveil an unprecedented computer system that allows global police agencies to share information for tracking online child predators

In American under the provisions of the patriot act it is highly likely that this new techonlogy will be used to fight terrorism, real or precevied and illeagal drugs.

This technology is perfectly suited to trace anyone who has ever open a page at cannibus.com to thier home even if MIT's latest counter measures were used to attempt to cover your tracks.

Still its scary how much you can be traced and watched, I spose its needed really. I'm willing to lose a bit of privacy if it helps catch a child abuser.

uhhh.. what if they try to use it to help catch a pot head? i think microsoft shoulda told the global po to fuck off because if they can track child molesters, whos to say they cant use the same thing to track who ever they wanted to???

nickx760
10-16-2005, 01:49 AM
why would they catch a pothead? ur not breaking any laws talking about the time u got really stoned and ate everything in ur kitchen

justindolan

It was developed for Child Molestors. But now that the tech. is available, the other divisions on law enforcement are more than happy to help out. Being used for a good purpose such a Child Molestation got millions needed for the sofware development. Burning a copy is cheep and available to government. If it's legal to go after Child Molesters with the software, what would make you think a judge will say to you it was illeagal to track you down for another crime (like a drug conspiracy).

Your not scaring anyone not even the 14 year old kiddies im sure there are more productive and better things for you to be better doing with your personal time than trawling an cannabis forum trying to scare some people who just want to relax and smoke marijuana harming no-one.

It's probably not as effective as a phone-tap.

You can be traced through every device your communication has traveled. They can find out who started the msg, where he bought the computer, where the warranty is registered, who lines were used (even if if transmitted wirelessly),etc.

It's better than GPS.

Phone taps can be scrambled be devices that use code generated on sight and descrambled by the other party.

and the columbian king pins probably aren't on this site

You are not spreading information, rather disinformation if these systems were ever to come into place it will take years to fully integrate a system to multi-task.

It would be IMPOSSIBLE for someone to be convicted for a crime because they posted something on an internet forum so please save us your embarassment.

It's more of a when question. It can only be answered by when they have the time and public support. If the public communicate to the govenment their views they will be followed or viewed as tyranical.

Where is not limited to the US. The US is obviously under Fed. jurisdiction. You can link to the DEA's web site to find thier oversees operations.

Currently the Internet Pharmacies has been stung, hit, and, crippled. A lot of internet drug agents need something new to do. I SEE A LOT OF SMOKE!

Nah man to be honest i don't really care im not an American citizen so it doesn't concern me.

It does concern me that your government has so little interest in personal freedoms, in a country that is supposedly a free democracy where your people have right to live without persecution that people are arrested for what would be considered trivial matters in other democratic nations.

Justin, maybe you could help us get in touch with some people.

I underwent a series of drugs (for pain), including Neurontyn, which has been linked to suicides, during the past year. The whole thing could have been made easier if I had been prescribed pot. I know this. I've done the research. I started researching it because of my Brain Trauma and the non-effectiveness of other drugs. What I learned was that it raises Melatonin levels 4,000% in two hours, and is the most effective way to do so (not to mention, the "side-effect"). I have a lot of very minor, but very disturbing physical problems (vision, perma-tinnitus, a pain in the foot and this thing called dementia), but I couldn't bring myself to tell the doctors, who saw me for pain. The State of Virginia agreed to send me back to college, in this state, so they sent me to a psychologist, who I kept up sessions with (for a few months). I've talked to him, and only him.

Mmmm, this Caesar salad is awesome, can't wait to get to my veal parmigiana sub.

I can can't stopping of how many options this new tracing tech can be used.

There is a guy who may still use the boards (if allowed by the prison gaurds. But, I doubt it.) His name is Gilbert Scales.

Gilbert Scales was arrested in California for conspiracy to cultivate over 1000 marijuana plants. He was sentenced to 63 months in prison.

Of the five people arrested, Mr. Scales got the longest sentence even though he had no prior arrests, because the government said somebody had to be in charge, so they picked him as the manager/supervisor.

Correspondence dated 8/03:
"Since my arrest of May 2, 2001, I have had to take my son out of school because my arrest was a big news story. My wife has been shunned by 90% of her friends. We moved away and basically had to start life over." details... (http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=6216)

In a way we have to thank the goverment for developing the internet. Now more than ever we need to voice our opionions as to how it is going to be regulated. When officer friendly follows that trace to your computer locking the door isn't going to keep him out. Your right I had too much free time on my hands last night. I spent it trying to inform you and warn you. I think it's great you think I am an alter ego. But, I was all one person - just me.

Do you only doubt me b/c I posted that Ron Bennett was not your real name? You never challenged that. I could care less what you think of me. If you wanted more proof you should have asked while you had the chance. I done trying.

Your site is set up to allow Law Enforcement to track it's users directly to thier computer. Make your cash when you can because big brother is world wide and comming right to ya. It may be months or a year - But now that it's in motion it won't be stopped.

Your lack of concern and site security make it that much easier.

"What some might call the Orwellian manifestation of "Big Brother," others refer to as Section 213. That's the portion of the PATRIOT Act that gives the FBI expanded ability to conduct "sneak-and-peek" searches of a person's home or office.

Under the PATRIOT Act, law enforcement agents do not have to prove they are suspicious of domestic terrorism to obtain the right to conduct such searches. They are allowed to utilize such sneak-and-peeks for regular criminal investigations as well. Once granted, a sneak-and-peek visit can include the taking of photos or of physical objects. As the law is currently written, the subject of the search is likely to never know the search has even taken place.

Udall and other critics of the PATRIOT Act believe the sneak-and-peeks constitute a violation of constitutional rights to privacy and freedom from unwarranted search and seizure.

"The reality is that these investigations are already happening covertly," Peter Simonson, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union in New Mexico, says. "What's worse, the target of a subpoena may never know that the FBI is looking through their property."

According to data released by the Bush administration in April 2005, sneak-and-peeks already have nearly doubled in the past two years. From Oct. 26, 2001 to April 1, 2003, the Justice Department asked for and received sneak-and-peek warrants 47 times. From April 2, 2003 to Jan. 21, 2005, the number of warrants increased to 108. The Justice Department also sought seizure authorization 45 times from Oct. 2001 to Jan. 2005.

Owing to the secretive nature of the sneak-and-peeks, very little is known about the people subjected to them, with the notable exception of Brandon Mayfield, a Portland-based attorney who was arrested in March, 2004 on suspicion of being a material witness to the deadly Madrid terrorist attacks. Mayfield, a convert to Islam whose house was, in fact, searched in secret, was detained for two weeks before the government admitted to a case of mistaken identity. Mayfield is now suing the Justice Department for violation of his constitutional rights.

Another section of the act also enables the government to access the subject lines of e-mails and even to track Web surfing habits, if law enforcement officials can certify that the surveillance is somehow relevant to an ongoing criminal investigation."

This is part of an article I found on the renewal of the Patriot Act, which was set to expire this year. If Im not mistaken, all of the provisions are up for renewal very soon (and some new ones included) and awaiting signature by the President. (With all of the hurricane news, I havent heard much talk about this lately. Perhaps it was already passed recently???)
Pretty scary stuff.....

There is undenialble chatter about mail order bud (by definition conspiracy) on this forum.
One service provider (he could be your friend) has been VERY vocal and boastful about his integrity. I will not use him for this reason, despite the 'legit' vibe I get from him.

"chatter" by definition, is chatter. Not conspiracy.
A criminal conspiracy exists when two or more people agree to commit almost any unlawful act, then take some action toward its completion. The action taken need not itself be a crime, but it must indicate that those involved in the conspiracy knew of the plan and intended to break the law. One person may be charged with and convicted of both conspiracy and the underlying crime based on the same circumstances.

The specific chatter I refer to is when two individuals duke it out over a delayed/missing pkg in public. (sorry for not being clear)
Transactions should always reamain private, thats my preference,..thats all.

10-17-2005, 12:26 AM
of course, but talking about a crime is not a crime. There must be steps taken towards the crime, which cannot be proven in this case unless the individual in question is stupuid enough to not deny what he had previously said. "it was a joke" would suffice to get you off, as would "oh I just posted that to piss off other people"

Your right I had too much free time on my hands last night. I spent it trying to inform you and warn you. I think it's great you think I am an alter ego. But, I was all one person - just me...
Thanks for the warnings :D

I'll be on the lookout for the jazzed up DHS surveillance truck...

And the black helicopters; the U.N. is going to take over the world

...Your site is set up to allow Law Enforcement to track it's users directly to thier computer. Make your cash when you can because big brother is world wide and comming right to ya. It may be months or a year - But now that it's in motion it won't be stopped.
Tracking something to one's computer doesn't mean diddly ... and anyways, many folks in the DEA and other law enforcement agencies, privately, wish cannabis was legalized / regulated; they don't need more work chasing tokers ... they'd prefer to focus on more important matters.

Speaking of big brother ... check out the ONDCP website ... no, not that one ... I mean mine at http://www.ondcp.org/

And while on the topic of big brother, they already know where I am ... geez :D

...Your lack of concern and site security make it that much easier...
This is a publicly accessible site; one should assume all internet activity that one does anywhere is monitored by the government and other entities ... public means just that ... the Marihemp Network gets 10,000+ visitors per day - the secret is out!

...Ban me if you want. The people who have read my posts know I was just looking out for thier best interest. They will understand if I was banned because I was bad for your business.
Speaking of business ... since you really want to help folks here, upgrading to cafe membership would allow you to have a bigger "big brother" avatar and help us cover costs so we may provide this quality service, that you are enjoying for free, to more folks world-wide.

...Let cafe members have [img] tag in thier signatures... or maybe even allow them to post it
The IMG tag can be easily abused - ie. folks using it to track users IPs by using IMG to link to an image file and then browsing their log files for all the IPs ... or possibly even going one step further and placing a cookie header in the linked image too for more detailed tracking.

A more practical reason for not allowing the IMG tag is latency - remotely hosted images (IMG tags) require additional remote (DNS) lookups leading to sluggishness for visitors - not allowing the IMG tag greatly speeds things up for visitors.

Good call on the img tags, Ron.. Pretty much every other forum i've visited allow img tags, and they're extremely slow to load (especially on dial up connections) and sometimes people's signature images make the forums look cluttered and annoying. :)

the police have got more important things to do than track potheads talking shit on here. anyway, it doesn't bother me too much- i'm a uk citizen so i can always fall back on the european court of human rights and theyre a right buch of leftie hippie soap dodgers compared to the US police state, so its all good. even so, alot of people on here large themselves up to look good (know wot i mean justin?). just try to get a conviction out of someone bragging to their mates- hearsay or conjecture i thnk are the terms.
