yo

i just wanna know if anyone else agrees that the whole "war on drugs" is a total joke?? we hear about drug-related crime, drug related convictions, all sorts of drug related stories in the news on a daily basis. But like all succesful propaganda, no1 even bothers to question why drugs r illegal in the first place. And even if they do, they never consider the REAL reasons behind drugs behind ilegal.

when we hear drug related news, its hardly ever the actualy truth... the news is always twisted to make US look bad, like we're in the wrong, like drug users are the root of all evil. they make it look like drugs are the cause of all crime, and they always manage to divert attention away from the real reasons.

In this day and age, money is power. So when we hear about drug dealers being arrested, the blame gets laid on drugs. But people arent breaking the law for anything new. Theyre breaking the law for what we've always broken the law for: money.

The public is exposed to countless drug related events and accepts the restrictions and laws on drugs just like they accept the sky is blue and their shit is brown. When politicians fight for tougher penalties on drugs, theyre not fighting to reduce crime, drug addiction or gang violence, theyre fighting for ratings and votes. People have never actually benifited from these drug laws, except the politicians who make up these laws. if drugs werent illegal, organized crime wouldnt be profiting from drugs as much as they r today. i mean come on, wake the fuck up!! Laws against drugs arent affecting these "criminals", only keeping them in business. when people realise that keeping drugs ilegal is only boosting their demand, the question of legalization is definatly gona b taken more seriously. obviously lawyers, politicians, cops, all these ppl are gonna fight to keep the illegal coz it'll be their jobs at stake, their livelihoods!! its not nuttin to do with them wantin to keep drugs off the streets, as long as they can keep their jobs and pay off their mortgage and put their kids through the most expensive college they can.

we live in supposodely Free Countries, we can damage our body with cigarettes, cigars, alcohol and prescribe drugs if we want, but our governments have decided we cant smoke weed because it does this to our body, it does that to our brain, it causes paranoia, psychosis, blah blah blah..
but how many people die as a direct result of smokin weed? compare that to the number of people who die from alcohol poisoning, drink driving, and you'll see what should really be the illegal substance, if any. i personally think no drugs should illegal, the majority of us are sensible people, we can decide what we can do and when to do it, so why is drug taking any different? are skiing, surfing, bungi-jumping, snowboaring and all other extreme sports gonna be made illegal next because of the risk to our healths!?!?!? you can all disagree with me if you want, but thats just my opinion.. :)

also i dont think if drugs were legal then everyone would take them.. drugs r only in such high demand at the moment because of the booming black market for them.. criminals r making hundreds of millions of pounds, dollars, euros etc all over the world to push drugs.. anyway, at the end of the day, it would all come down to personal choice and responsibility, which is what it should be about in the first place!! i liked what bonbonhia said in a different post..

" "Well if heroin were legal we would have people in the gutters with snot hanging out thier noses." Yeah, and that would be an excellent opportunity for me to say, "Look son, see that guy in the gutter with snot hanging out his nose? Wanna be like him?" "No daddy I don't." "Well don't be shooting heroin son, that's were it will take you." "

amen to that!!
