I've had glasses, and after I smoked, I would always put Visine in, and the redness in my eyes would go right away. But after I got contacts about 9 months ago, I was wondering... Will putting Visine on your eyes while having contacts in have any adverse effects to the contacts?

You need the eye drops for contacts.......

But I don't see why people try to hide red eyes......I say let the redness loose :)

I use solution to put my contacts in... all that does is cleanse it and make the contact moist.

Visine drys out your contacts, buy this instead.

Dude, if you wear soft lenses, then you want "Visene for Contacts." It's in the same part of Walgreen's where the ordinary Visene is. It's about $5 for a tiny bottle, or half that if you buy the store brand. Again assuming you have soft contacts, look for the bottle that says it's for hydrophillic lenses -- that means "water-liking," or in other words, soft lenses.

If you wear hard contacts, then you need wetting solution for those lenses -- but your eye doctor should have told you about that, because hard contact lens wearers have to wet their lenses more often.

I wear eyeglasses most of the time, but I like to wear contacts when I ride my bike more than 20 miles or so, because I see better with them. Wind and weed dry my eyes out, so I always carry some Visene for Contacts. If I don't put a drop in every few hours and my eyes get dry, the lenses can move on my eyeball, and then get stuck, so I lose clear vision in one eye and the contact lens ends up stuck under my eyelid or in my tear duct or who knows where? (I've had lenses stuck in my eye for more than a day ...!)

Plus, Visene for Contacts gets the red out -- just like the ads say! :D
