Thinkin of getting a 1000w HPS and a light rail...
Anyone use or have used a light rail?
Any info on this subject would be greatly apprtiated.
(I'm Baked and behond)
OR the 600w hps and 400mh combo light on a rail ...what do ya think about that compared to just 1000W of HPS.
I no it would be hotter.Thinkin of getting 1000w hps and later getting a MH .

it's hard to add cooling to a light mover is one thing. I have track movers and they work fine you get a good even coverage of light. Just it's hard to add cooling to a moving light. If you want to you need to start and end the cooling tubs in the middle of the run fyi.

light rails are nice... like HH said... if cooling using tubes/exhaust is a must.. light rails can make things a bit complicated.. bending joints and such..
but light rails are really fun and you can get the bulb CLOSE to your plants

I'm just gonna get an exaust going outside and maybe an intake from outside, but Don't think the intake is nessesary if I get CO2...so I shouldn't have to attach anything.
So far thinking of getting 1000w hps on a 6-9 foot light rail.
exaust with some kind of filter(for smell) and C02.
Also the basics ofcourse.
First grow will be soil.
But the exaust should keep the temp down right?
And in the summer I'll be using an air cooler.

Hi J DOG 6000,
A light rail is the only way i can get the results i do from me girls.
Try to have the exhaust right above where the rail comes to a stop, works lovely for my 600w & 2 x 300w UVB's.

is your exaust connected to the hoods?
Or is that it on the ceiling(6 inch whole)?
Thank you so much...you too Zandor
Any more exaust or light rail info off the top of your heads.

u should look into the cool cylinder hood they have a 20inch and a 24 inch witch will fit a 600 and a 400 in the same hood. venting the hood directly is a problem i had with the light rail couse i have a 440crm fan and to keep noise level down i have to use insalated duct witch pulls the hood. i just tried diff setups until i worked it out.
