View Full Version : A question concerning the U.S. Government & The Bible

Would the government amend laws concerning disputes with The Bible?
Does Our Government read The Bible?
Believe in The Bible?
Does Our Government Love Jesus Christ?
Does Our Government worship Jehovah?
Can Jesus Christ's words, as told by Luke the Apostle (or Matt, etc.), have more weight than President Bush's?
Who would you vote for as President, Bush or Christ? (Or any certain candidate you may have in mind.)
Do you think Jesus Christ would persecute those who commune with Life through Pot?
Through all of your opinions, it is my guess that the U. S. Government believes that no such figure (Jesus Christ) ever existed and no words spoken by him shall be held accountable.

The Bible is a re-write , btw. The "Bible" as we know it... is composed of stories and fables that are not only down right not true.. but taken from older texts. and in fact.. aren't original.
Politics and Religion should NEVER mix. That's 3/4 of our problems today.. Religious based governments...
Ps.
Jesus was a pothead.. Judas wasn't.. you figure it out.

Well, the government is comprised of lots of people, who all have their own opinions on Jesus and the Bible and so forth. But there are a LOT of Christians in the U.S. government. Our own president is ignorant enough to believe the Bible is literally true.

I think that's what scares me most about the guy.

I'm not gonna quote the Bible in my signature anymore, except for Jesus. But, still, you know that The Devil is a metaphor, but for what? Inner-thoughts? Misconstrued thoughts of others? Other people who seek to gain an advantage on you? Or no one, we need someone to blame stuff on? When I had brains scrambled, I blamed it on God because only God could've made it a wonderful experience. I don't believe in The Devil, or any devil. The devil came down and told Eve to stick the apple in her pussy, but Adam got jealous, and said, "No, just eat it."

the fact that its the only western nation with a christian government is scary, as someone said before, religion and political power are a dangerous combination as it can lead to distrust and intolerance of others, epecially those of a different faith

It's more of an expansion of a mono-theistic religion, am I right?
In God We Trust; One Nation Under God; God Bless the Queen; God Bless America; God come down Under every once in a while.
Is it 'one-God' we're all concerned about, or is it 'one-government'?
Have all the bad leaders been ahead of their time, thus, blowing away all their people with Intelligence?

In America, there's, basically, no connection between the Church and the government.
That's the way I feel. If we had a Christian government, then our Constitution would be as open to interpretation as The Bible is. And when we go to court for speeding tickets, we could use "God pushed me" as a viable defense.

How can you say there's no connection between the church and the government when directly on your money...it says "In God we Trust".. not only is it a connection of religion to government.. but to materialism aswell!
And how is the constitution NOT open for interpretation? It's even open for change...
Notice how a foreigner is Governer of California? Is he not pushing for a change in the constitution so that he, one day may run for president?

Ok...heh, just to CLARIFY. Anyone who says that our current Bible is not the accurate translation, and thinks it is a bunch of stories has NEVER taken the time to actualy research the subject, and should keep their mouths shut :)
And looking for reasons and opinions to justify your personal opinion that the Bible isn't true does NOT constitute research into the subject...so don't even try to tell me that you have studied it...because if you DID research it, and came up with that conclusion, you are either hopelessly foolish and closed-minded or were not able to find accurate resources.
Open your mind, smoke some herb if you need to, and THEN research/study something.....THEN develop your opinion....not the other way around...

I've read the thing from Cover to Cover. Genesis to Revelations. Spent the first 15 years of my life with my head buried in the fucker.
I don't need to research the subject.. i need to find the actual truth to all this BS.

well gaji i have researched the bible extensively, as well as the old testament and the qoran, guess which one contradicts itself the most and has obviously been heavily altered during the 6 centuries it took to emerge in its final form?
but thats not my point, and ive forgotten what is, ah well

Yeah, but look at the whole process as to open to interpretation. We have to pass an Amendment. It says that, but if our government really believed in God, it would treat every living thing as it's equal and it, definitely, doesn't do that. I'm not materialistic, so I've no opinion on those matters.
I think Arnold is a great step towards progression of the U.S.A. Next, we need a Trinidad-ian governor.

The whole idea of the Bible is to interpret the mindset of the writers, not judge what they have to say.
Think of where Moses' head was when he wrote his story either 1420 or 1220 B.C. What was Josh thinking?
Analyze the "Psalms" by David, et al, that are written, at least, 1000 B.C.
Malachi wrote stuff 450-425 B.C.
James 45-48 A.D., was Jesus still alive?
John 85-96 A.D.
How does 1500 years of mankind tie together?
May The Devil not impede your mind.

Then i guess that was the problem from day one.. The politics should never have been mixed with religion...
I wonder how long it'll be before "In God we Trust." will be removed? Probably never...
You're not materialistic.. you're a pothead, few potheads are.. because we'd rather smoke our money.. than stuff it under our matress...or buy that fancy BMW we dreamt about when we were kids. It scares me that your government is though... scares me greatly..
Even know we can see the extent of which the government will go.. just to secure a source of fuel.
Arnold IS a step towards progress.. but what of his Hilter Youth past? what about Prescott Bush having serious associations with hitler and the nazi party? Why is it that all of these facts are ignored when it comes to election day?
And yes.. they are facts.. not rumours.
The day the government gets their heads of god's ass... is the day a Cuban becomes president.

OOOh, thats the ticket, intimidation! Why havent I ever tried that? Oh, probably because I dont have to intimidate to effectively get my point across.
Why's that? Cuz you said so? I understand most people find themselves to be more enlightened than the next person, but empty words dont fly with me. Show me that you're enlightened with your POV before criticizing others. Just criticizing and asserting that you're right and everyone is wrong is a good indicator that you probably havent thought too deeply about your views, or you would be more than happy to express them in an articulate, well-thought out form, rather than giving blatent criticism of others viewpoints and making rediculous, baseless assumptions about the thinking abilities of your opposition.
Open your mind, smoke some herb if you need to, and THEN research/study something.....THEN develop your opinion....not the other way around...
Its cute how you assume that those who dont believe as you do must not be very well-read or open-minded on the subject. Good insight as to your abilities to be open-minded. I hope the irony isnt lost on you.
