There are certain things in this world that even the almighty cannabis cannot make fun. Such as throwing hay bales, stacking hay bales, anything that involves me picking up a hay bale. I've tried it stoned, shroomin', and sober, and it fucking sucks everytime. Oh yeah and my husband yelling, "Honey, take off your shirt so I can see your ta-tas!" from the tractor is NOT a turn on. He's 43 for Christ's sake...anyway, sorry, I had to vent. Is there anything else that you can think of that sucks no matter how much you smoke? I doubt anything beats haying on the farm... My next husband is going to have a desk job!

LOL... thank you for the laugh although I know you aren't laughing!!! You are right though...... all that hay stuff sucks and it's ITCHY!!!! Who the hell wants to "roll in the hay"???? Not meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
I think another thing that sucks no matter what would be cleaning the toilet.
But back to hay.... what's the going price in your area??? Just curious .... where I used to live square bales went for $2-3.50 and here they can go as high as $7-8.... round bales seem to be $40-80 depending on size. :-)

Yeah, we sell square bales for $2.50, sometimes $2.75. My husband has a hay contract with a big horse farm/camp, we don't use the hay, except for our chickens and rabbits bedding. There's also lots of dairy farms around that we sell to if good hay is scarce. My husband is a heavy equipment mechanic, his whole life revolves around tractors and other loud machines! We use our barn to store all of his "toys" while we build our new garage.
Rolling in the hay? That's crazy talk! I have hay scratches all over my arms, I don't need them all over my body...
No, I don't work on the farm, I help here and there, but I have nothing to do with the animals. My delicate hands were not made for hard labor.:p LOL.

Hay bales really do suck, MJM...and anybody who ever claims to have gone for a roll in the hay is probably a liar. I did a fair chunk of growing up on a farm...the worst was haybaling, but sheepshearing time can also be bad...Probably just the system we used though. See, my helper friend and I would go into the sheep pen, and scare out one of the sheep, which would run through some low-walled passages and into the shearing pen. It worked great, until we had to scare out the three rams...we started running at them, then they started running at US...they ended up breaking down a stone wall that we jumped over. With their heads.

Anything to do with hay does suck. That includes scraping the lot where cows wait to be milked. I would rather scrape 25 lots everyday than deal with hay though. Hot and sticky are a bad combo.

LOL I'm with ya MJM...sounds like we did the same thing over the weekend. I hate bucking bales but my horses have to eat this winter so I deal with it:confused:

even worse than handling bales of hay is shoveling horse shit: recycled hay!
