Remember the two clones I took off big bertha? Well, I foolishly put them under fluoros (too close) and of all my clones they are doing the worst. They are still curled back (though not as much) and the bottom leaves are starting to turn yellow. See what I mean about too much love?

Hey turtle, don't you even post on your own thread anymore. We want pictures. What's happening? Another reason the hydro plants are so short is because I put them in a bubbler when they had 1 1/2 inch roots. They never stretched like the soil ones. I forgot about that. So if you don't plants to get big ever, then sprout them and then put the seedlings into a bubble cloner. That's how I got such short plants. That and the low light.

you could wait a few weeks, then take a clone and put this clone right on 12/12 so you force it to flower and 1 or 2 weeks later you'll see the sex.

Turtle, nice to hear you are back. Missing you alot. I often find myself wondering, I wonder what happened to turtle. More light to clones in the beginning is bad.

Too much light and your poor little clones will use up all the sugar (food) in the leaves and die a horrible death, before any roots are made. So leave them in weak light. Like the light by a window. NO, direct sun. I put my first clones in fluoros about 3 inches away and yeoow, they started to curl something awful. Stupid me left them that way for three days. Well, they have roots and are still curled. So I don't know if I fried them or not. They are still green, but not growing. Taking cuttings and growing them out is so slow. Seeds are much faster.

personally i would go with the white widow strain as there is more thc comtent to it which in the long run gets you more stoned :D i have thought of bubbleicious and wouldent mind trying some of that myself well i had the choice when i was picking seeds the other week to choose bublelicious or something with a higher thc content so in the end i went with white rhino which isent going to bad at the moment i germinated the seed for 6 days and got it planted lastnight :) so lets hope it turns out ok i have 2 clones of white widowin my growroom that my m8 legalizdahurb gave me and they have been gowing for a week now and they are growing jusy nicely hope that helps thanks all

2- Cool tube: re-built... 600W HPS and 400W MH in there now...

4- carbon air scrubber left aside for future development
5- 550CFM Dayton installed for cool tube cooling
6- Nutrient mix "mixed"... using GH 1st vegetative week... halved.
7. SCRoG screen NOT installed... too tired
8. heavy duty X10 timer built... another one of the simple ones got fried (WTF?)
9. ??? That's it.

Change the button layout to Green Thumb (you can do the melee attack easier/faster)
Play lots and lots and lots
If you see anything moving, grenade the shit out of it

Update:

I re-LSTed heavy dutily the mothers... don't want them touching the bulbs... I cut off 8 very good, long, bushy, secondary growths... gonna make some clones!

I took a 5 gallong bucket, placed an air stone at the bottom, filled it almost to the top with GH clones mix, and CalMag PLUS.

I placed a lid (from a square plastic "shoe box") on top... drilled 8 holes, placed the clones... taped them down (yeah, tape), used some paper clips for support... (note::: in the picture, the paper clips aren't present... I added them later... and I didn't take a picture... becuase I ain't Master Splinter...)

Placed a 9W (40W) CFL on top of them ('bout 12 inches).

The lights are on 18/6... the new 300CFM fart fan gets ON for 5 minutes, every 55 minutes.

Um.... target success rate this time around: 100%

Past success rates:
v1.0 = -30% (burned to a crisp)
v2.0 = 0% (died quickly)
v3.0 = 10% (life support for 13 days was it?)
v4.0 = 40% (kept alive with fog, for aprox 10 days... some rooted... most perished)

v5.0 = ??? 100% ??? let's see in 7 days.

If they all root, I'm placing 4 in the fog root chamber (yet to be improved upon... crap). The other 4 I'd be placing in.... SOIL!!! :D

Making new mother plants... more, um, manegable. :dance:

btw. try using much smaller cuttings for clones. i never had much luck with big cuttings. i now use very small cuttings(1-2 nodes) and have almost 100% success everytime with a similar bubbler. i also notice that the cuttings with fewer leaves always seem to root first.

UPDATE: Clones are looking SUPER... but, they'll have to get killed. Can you believe my fucking luck?!

Probably males within them.

You see, when I got rid of the other pot with two mothers, I "diagnosed" that the current pot had two females... well, to my surprise, I was dead-fucking wrong.

Today, I opened my mother cabinet, to find out the biggest plant is flowering... or at least, this is what I think it would look like if a 140 day old plant wanted to flower... especially a horny male plant.

It's full of balls! Oh My God.

Well, I spent like 30 minutes tracking down individual growths, and, from what SuperTurtle has been able to re-diagnose, we've got one male and one female.

I don't know why the male decided to flower. 18/6 light schedule has been kept the same all the time.

Anyways, I'm uploading the pictures. Please let me know if they're a confirmed male... death will follow soon shortafter..

As to the clone pictures, aren't they lovely?! Gotta die... damn it... :(

Because I thought both plants where females, all clones are mixed... I have no tracking data to which clone came from which plant. And I sure as hell ain't doing a 1000watt SCRoG to find out it's full of males...

Oh well, so seems to be my luck...

I've decided to go the 5gallon DWC way... I'm really sorry gK... I know you want to see the foggy thing... but, me being a newb, it's just too many things to get a hold on right now. I'm just about to mix in the nutrients with the 5 gallons of RO water... We're using SuperTHRIVE, GH 3-parts (clone mix) and CalMag PLUS.

I just fed the mother... (note the singular use of the word "mother") her water... I'm waiting like 60 minutes until she drinks up, so I cut the clones...

I'm doing exactly the same thing with the clones I did last time.

Damn dude, I choped that male plant. No mercy. I had to use cutting pliers [correct word?]... snap snap snap... tossed it all in a garbage bag, went out for a drive, and dumped it in the 1st garbage pail I could find.

Only one plant left... gonna make some new mothers!

I'm planning on cutting 6 growths... two for hydro grow (DWC 5 gallons) and the rest for soil... making new moms.

I'll update on how it goes later on.

Just a suggestion but have you considered doing a simple straight forward and very basic grow ?
Starting from seeds, just keep everything down to basic requirements, and roughly allow 8 weeks for the veggitive growth and 8 weeks for the flowering ;)

I'm only saying this love because I really do want to see a Turtle harvest on these boards ;)

Honestly you'll find it ever so easy, a little boring maybe but easy non the less:)

I don't know if I'm slowly killing my mother plant...

Here's the rundown of the situation:
I watered the pot yesterday, full of water.... I'm 98% sure I didn't over water.

The water I used, was Brita-filtered water, SuperTHRIVE, and Schlutz Cactus Juice. The container where I have this water has an airstone in it, 24/7.

The water in that container had been there for about 2 weeks... unused, with the airstone running.

I poured the water yesterday into the pot, and today I open it to find what I think is TOO MANY yellow leaves.

The plant isn't dying tomorrow, I know that... but I can see I fucked up somewhere...

I don't think she's going to die one me, but I can clearly see this was something that had to do with the watering. I mean, the change was too fast in order to be something else... but, I'm also a newb... sooo... I migh be wrong... probably.

As to the leaf-to-stem ratio, interesting. The story is, that that pot had two plants in it... about 1 week ago I found out one of them was a male, so I took it out... I just snipped the stem of it and pulled it out piece by piece.

The male was much more "vigorous" than this female... so, maybe that's the reason for the ratio... ???

The training is just LST... I've never had donen it... so, it was basically trying to keep her low. I think I faired more or less well... :)

I've only got four right now.... all in a bubbler cloner setup, using a 5 gallon bucket.

The thing is, I got convinced of growing with two 5gallon buckets, DWC-style. So, those are 2 clones I need... then, I wanted to have another clone to start another mother plant... a more trimmed mother plant. That's the 3rd.

Then, the 4th clone was, because I was thinking... you know... being kind of... bad.... and ... nature-like... Kowabunga... rambo... guerilla-style... outdoor... growing... White Widow... 66degrees... female... plant.... thing.

Yeah that Xbconnect was out for a long time, thats what everyone played halo1 on, that was the shit before it was soo much fun. Its ok but it has crazy lag when I just to play, it might be fun to tryout.

I had a question that I would figure u would know.(sorry to post it on ur thread:o ) I'm getting a 200cfm fan and I wanted to know where to place it in order to get the best use out of it. OK heres my box and fans

Space 2x4x7

1 intake fan 80cfm booster throwing fresh air to the bottom
1 exhuast fan 80cfm booster sucking the air from the 400wbulb as well as the stale air(this is setup like mellowMans cool tube )
1 reg small fan blowing on the plants

Now by me getting this 200cfm fan I dont know where to place it in order to get the best results. Should I replace one like the the one on the cooltube/exhuast or the fresh air intake or add it on its own at the top to suck more hot air hot. I was thinking of maybe switching the it with the cooltube/exhuast then taking the extra 80cfm booster and using it on top as another exhuast but will this be to much exhaust cause I'm only getting 80cfm intake? Help turtle I know u know about this stuff. If you want just move this to my thread, just help me I cant keep my dumb closet door closed and I really need to:(

Dude, you're going to end up doing. I'm telling you. Same thing with me. I was going hydro NFT, I had everything... everything! Until I don't-know-who spoke about foggers, the thing started to itch inside... then Zandor mentioned the NutraMist... I wet my pants... then Garden said hie had seen the NutraMist and that it kicked-ass... then I just bought the damn thing.

There are two or three very interesting posts about the fogger in this thread... but, you've got to search back the pages... don't know where the hell they are... but not too back.... maybe 6 pages? 8?

I just looked over your cloning with the fogger. My thoughts are the clones died from dampening off caused by to much humidity in the air sufficating the stoma and making transpiration impossible which you I am sure already know. The clones look drenched in the pictures. Did get roots though. I did not look at the time frames do you recall off the top of your head how long it took them to root?

Hello guys,

As you may know, I'm about to begin my first grow.

Overview: 1000W, cabinet LST SCRoG, hydro NFT

I've got two strains: White Widow
and Bubblelicious

For the experienced, what strain do you suggest? I'm going to plant only one of them.

I appreciate all the help. I plan on planting the seeds (from the selected strain) and growing a couple of them. Then changing over to 12/12 to determine sex. After I've got my females, I re-veg them (18/6) and take clones from them. Those clones are the ones I put into the individual mesh-pots of the hydro NFT.
