identifying Hermaphrodites

Last time and the first time I grew I ended up getting seeds in my bud from what I know was hermies. How do you identify a hemaphrodite and what is the best way to avoid getting hemaphrodite plants? Smoke :o

Best way would be to study the FAQs @ Overgrow.com and other places... and use the 'search' function for this threads... learn from other's mistakes.... and others' threads.
