YOU DID NOT MENTION IF IT WAS DARK IN YOUR BARN. IF IT IS DARK IN THERE IT WILL WORK FINE TO DRY YOUR PLANTS, AS LONG AS IT'S NOT TO COLD. SUNLIGHT BREAKS DOWN THE THC IN THE DRYING PROCESS, AND COLD MOIST WEATHER WILL BREED MOLD AND MILDEW. PARTY ON! :)

I USUALLY BUY ONE OF THOSE CHEAP INDOOR/OUTDOOR THERMOMETERS
AND JUDGE BY THAT. CHECK IT AT THE COLDEST TIME OF NIGHT. MIDNIGHT, 1AM, ETC... GOOD LUCK!! :p

It would depend on the humitiy outside of the barn, i wouldnt seal it up any ,inless you have to seal out light, rain, or for security, the breeze going through is what you need.
the cool night temps usually have drier air, i have dried in a shed ,with a fan for many years.

I have a box fan on during the daytime, and its set on low, so if you have a enough breeze to move the leaves just a bit, then it should be fine, check for mold every day.

Your barn sounds like a near-perfect place for drying.
