just thought that id give another update for anyone who's seen my 36 days into flowering thread. they're looking good to me but the k2 plant is seriously going overly yellow and also starting to go purple in some leaves and stems ive taken the nitrogen down now and im going to start flushing them in a week with water for one week and then with hydrogarden 'Dry Flower' for 4-5 days. the yellow k2 plant has 5 official flowering days to go by the breeders guidelines but i think she might push that back a week or too because there's still life in her yet, the two california orange bud plants still have 10-15 official flowering days left but once again i think they'll take a bit longer than that. what could be causing the purple buds on one of the orange plants? makes it look very pretty dont ya think :D

one of the 30X handheld microscopes from radio shack with a digicam pointed down it using a tripod, i was quite pleased with them but theyre nothing compared to some that others have taken, ill put some more up in a minute.

Great Job man.

I had a similar thing happen to me (rapid yellowing near harvest) to one plant. It looked very similar to yours. It was like the plant knew it was at just about peak harvest time and "shut itself down". It began to just dry out right in it's own pot in the hydro setup. I didn't lose yield, or potency, it was like it was on auto-pilot and began to die. The others didn't really do that and were no different in the final product. :o :p bend a few stems on the yellowing one, it might be drying out, if the stem almost snaps, or seems dry, you can harvest.

k2 and cali orange. as its my first grow ive been prepared for a bit of a fuckup but i never expected it to go this well. Stormcooker- the hairs have not turned red yet and i feel that the trichomes are not at thier full potency, would there be any advantage of cutting it now when it could have another week or two of maturation? i had a problem in the tank with nutrient lockout and that started the servere yellowing about 2 week back although it seems surprizingly un fazed by the whole experience. the main learning experience from this grow is to not grow seperate strains in the same nft tank! although to some who are more experienced this may seem obvious it took me this grow to find out, the cali orange fineshes 10-15 days after the K2 so im gonna have to go slightly less on flushing the K2 to accomodate the cali orange as that is my main priority because there are two of them and a tasty personal smoke is all i require, its not a cash/commercial crop. any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Fallen.

that is some straight up chronic. That is a good idea with your digital camera and the magnifying glass. I can't wait till we are well into flowering like you are. I just picked up an 8 Megapixel Pentax Optio A10 and wow does it kick ass. I have taken pictures with this camera that are usually only found on very expensive camera. It has a macro and super macro focus so you can take some SERIOUS pictures of some trichomes.

Your weed is some of the best stuff I have seen on this site yet.

just the two plants i take it? shame you did a real good job on them eh! well done, dont leave that orange there too long
point of harvest is when the plant is at spledor, picking or cropping later will increase the body stoned effect of the plant, changing the charectoristics of the thc, and if left too long the deteriation of the trichoms starts, the more opaque the colour of the trichomes the more body stone you will get!try trimming some now! and give the rest another weel and then compare the two to see witch you like most!
the orange bud is a very resiliant plant, and for that it is recomended for beginers, but should not be overlooked, its a nice skunky plant, with a lovely taste and stoned.
again there are very nice looking plants dude, ya should be proud!

Arent the fan leaves supposed to yellow during flowering as the plant uses the sugars etc that are stored in the large leaves? I believe the yellowing is normal at that stage.

PS I think they look great!
