Hello. I have a metal grinder with a screen on the bottom that collects kiff. The problem I am having is that the bottom part, the part where the kiff is collected, seems to be stuck and wont move. Ive tried using plyers, but it seems to only leave scratches on the grinder. Any suggestions on how to get this open b/c im going nuts not being able to smoke my kiff.

the top of mine is magnetic, the middle (herb area) is twist off, as well as the bottom part (kiff area). Its the bottom area that wont budge. Ive tried an adjustable wrench, plyers, soaking it on hot water, boiling it, and it is still stuck. This happened last week, but the adjustable wrench took care of it. This is starting to really frusterate me, knowing all the kiff that i've built up this week.

eah dude, that same thing happened to me, except in the screen section, not the kief compartment. It hasn't happened any other time, but the other day I bought an eighth o' dank from this guy and when I looked at it looked small as shit, but when i went home to tear it apart to put in my grinder, it was the stickiest, densest nug i have ever seen, seriously. Anyways, I think what happened was when I was trying to twist the top to grind it, it wouldnt fucking budge and i think I tried to twist it so hard that i just screwed it on super tight and couldnt get it. heres what i did, put the whole grinder in the freezer for 20 minutes, then let it thaw back out a little and just work at it, it should come undone.

big pair of pliers and a torch lighter.

also, try those rubber jar opener things, that might give you enough grip to pop it open.

Worst case, cut out the screen and get a new one.

is it a space case? i have a space case and never had this problem, but try the strap wrench i think its a thing to take the oil filters off cars good luck if its a space case dont rip the screen those things cost bank! If its not a SC then you shouldent have bought it all others just dont work as good.

K people, lets not forget what the problem is.. most likely its due to the fact that the threading is stuck from gooey THC trichs... what is THC? a fat. Now, how are lipids soluble? in either more fat or alcohol (thats why soap is fat and another agent)...

Try either some rubbing alcohol, and/or heating up the part of the grinder... the heat combined with the dilution of the trichs and plant matter should be enough to open after a little force is applied...

Wow... anyone notice the OP date :wtf:
Soap = fat + lye (NaOH), traditionally. A good soak in alcohol will get your sticky grinders right back to working order.
