I got a few questions about lights. I wanna know what would be better to use to grow in a closet either floros or hps. I would also want to know if you would need to ventilate if you used hps because of the heat. Also does anyone know what would be the overall best hps system to use cause i have heard of ones that uses 2 lights one magnesium and one sodium at once.

Ventilation with a HPS is a must. Actually, ventilation overall (either HPS, MH or CFL (fluros)) is advisable... you don't want your plants starving for air.
There are two types of grow bulbs (step up from CFLs): HPS - High Pressure Sodium and MH - Metal Halide. I think your magnesium bulb is a Metal Halide...
There are a couple of people in this boards that do a lot of growing purely on CFLs... Wait for their input.
Hope this helps :)

Your gonna have to ventilate just to get fresh air/blow out stale air.Since you are doing C02 you will probably be able to stand more heat...Obvioulsy with CFL or reg flors you will have less heat and you have to be right on the plant...If it were my choice I would get a HPS for flowering and use the Flors for VEG... Check out HTGSupply.com for some inexpensive lights or Insidesun.com (refurbs).. Can you give us some dimensions.. Also this is just my opinion, others are gonna tell you different

... HI..!:)
If you are in veg state, I think it would be best to use fluors...
And in flower state: HPS or MH..!:)
But thats just me.. I think..!:P:P
They say Batshit is for a fertilyzer..! But I don't know.. I have only tried horse shit and it works fine for me...!:)
But HD Please Abvise..
I''m Pretty new to this!:P

Not sure what the question is even... :)
but forget the Co2 if you are using CFL...it wont work.
I cant possibly see getting much better than CFL for seedling /veg and a combo MH/HPS setup for flower.
Your fan is a fundamental with or without anything else considered. It strengthens the stems and creates a strong point of delivery and transit of nutrition for the plants.
An indoor grow with out a fan just isnt a good idea for the health of the plant.
Also, I would consider the ventilation. If it is very good, you will have trouble keeping Co2 in the grow chamber.....
Great for larger areas and grows, but pretty impractical for small space grows.
You should definately ventilate and fan....use Co2 only if you have a larger area.

Yeah... What HARDDON said...
But Iv'e heard a fan is only nessacary (or how you spell it) if you've got a larger space room...
'Cause you get mold if you don't...
Don't know if someone's trying ti fill me whit crap.. but whatever...!:D

well im soon gonna but pictures up of the closet but its aproximentley is 8 feet tall, 5 feet wide and 3 feet deep. I was thinking of using the top portion with floros for the clones(vegetative) and the bottom using hds for the flowering .

No a fan is needed for optimal growth in an indoor environment. As I said, it:
A) Circulates air, helping the stomata under the leaves respirate by simulating outdoor breezes and temp fluctuations.
B) Stresses the main stem by causing micro tears in the fibers of the stem. Just like human or animal bones, the small tears are repaired by localizing CALCIUM deposit on the tears to make them even stronger. In fact, did you know you almost CANNOT break the same bone in the same place twice? The repaired bone is stronger than the non broken bones.
This holds true even in plant stems.
C) Protects from heat. Stagnant heat is deadly to plants and in an indoor environment, it is even more dangerous. Fans keep the air circulating, allowing the heat to remove some moisture and continues to keep hot air from smothering the plants.
If you grow indoors, you MUST have a fan for optimal growth potential.
15 Sq. Ft. is what you have Upinsmoke.....you definately need a fan.
As for your dual chamber setup.........perfect idea...jsut work out the logisitics first.
here is kinda a crappy pic of mine cuz I cant reach back far enuff because of my work bench.

wtf does that mean
This site has advertisers, that sell lights.
Almost every other thread here gives links to light sources.
A simple google search for grow lights results in hundreds of places to get them.
Ventilation in closets is posted everywhere too.
Guess I just meant the questions you asked were a bit old.....
I didnt mean anthing advesarial by it.
Just kinda meant if you read some posts using the advanced search, you can get all the info you asked for and then some.....
No harm meant.........
