I love the iPod!!!! Apparently, my whole family does! My dad has one, my brother has one, my sister has one, I had one and am getting another soon, my cousin who lives with us has one, his sister has one, my uncle has one....Hail the iPod nation!

i had an ipod....but it broke numerous times.....now i own a sony-hd, it holds loads more music and imo is better set out....i much prefere it...but thats my opinion...

How much music does it hold? You can get iPods in different sizes. My dad's is 60Gb, and it holds hundreds of CDs already, with tons of room left.

i have a 40 gig and its almost full at 6000 songs but thats probably because i have a lot of 20min + songs on it

the ipod is one of the greatest stoner toys I've ever owned. I'll be hanging out with people and really want to chill out and hear some music so I pop on the ipod and just chill .. it's great .... but yes, I agree with y'all .. the ipod is the shit. I had a 40gb 3rd gen but it died ... took a long drop and a sudden stop off a bench ... now I have a shuffle that I'm soon going to replace with either a Nano or a 80Gb if they get released next tuesday. (rumors are saying they might)

i dont spend money on rediculous amounts of memory and cool ways to turn up the volume, i have a 1 gig mp3 dealy that cost me 80 bucks and it holds more music then i care to listen 2 and its smaller than an ipod so i think ill just stick with it

lol, that's funny. don't let it get to you, man. i got put in jail for "selling" my dad's ring for drugs. atleast you sold something you owned...

although i don't have an ipod, i do have a zen sleek that's made by creative. it's my best friend. i love lying in bed, stoned out of my mind, jamming some black sabbath or any other of the artists that take up fifteen gigs on my mp3 player. i guess that means we have to change it up...all hail mp3 players!!

I don't own an Ipod as I found they are plastic and overpriced for their quality, but that's just me :)

So I got a Dell pocket mp3 player instead. Metal casing, sleek, slim look. Cost me about $150, has 5gb of space, that's about 2000 songs or so. That's all I need.

Yeah well..so what. I have a Rio PMP 300 that I have had since 1998. Yeah that's right I was listening to mp3s on the go before it was the hip thing to do :) Too bad its like only 32 MB (lol) and the expansion cards are not sold anywhere.

yah! some singles only come on vinal. and i don't know about you but a record is the best for rolling and deseeding bud. my next task is to play, and record all of the singles into my comp. all i need is the adapter for the record player. DAMN RADIO SHACK !

If your buying an MP3 player because your on the move a lot, or you dont have the space for all your cd's ok thats all in good reason but buying one too look cool is fucking stupid -.- everytime I see my friend Matt in his truck I call him an iFag, he bought a truck with a 10 cd changer and XM radio but he went out and bought an iPod so he could plug it into his truck and listen to...the music he ripped off the CD's he had in his truck before. Why you ask? because the iPod is an over-hyped piece of electronic equipment known only for one reason -- its the only good thing to ever come out of apple and you look like a 'cool kid' if you walk around with little white earbuds.

that's mean.
i'm on a mac now. it's my first computer. i have to deal w/ windows every day, and i won't say i hate pcs, but i REALLY like my mac.
the fun of the ipod for me is using it in conjunction w/ itunes.
plus i can back up all my data onto it. it's more than an mp3 player; it's a sweet lil' hard drive.
....and i am SO not looking cool, whether i'm carrying my ipod or not.

I think apple have a lot to answer to with these ipods ive had 2 now and they have both been faulty. As we speak I have a pink ipod mini lying on my desk that wont charge at all :confused:

I hate it for you. But Apple is no different than any other company in that it's gonna have some faulty devices shipped. If you look at their message boards, you see a lot of unhappy users.....
...but they're the (vast) minority.
I'm not saying it doesn't suck to get bad gear, but it sounds more like you had bad luck, getting a individually faulty device (or two), as opposed to buying a terrible product.
some friends of mine can't get their ipods to charge if it's hooked up to their PC. i've never had probs getting my pod to charge on my mac.

Many problems to be found on Apple's support site...
...Out of millons and MILLONS sold!
Again, NO company can ship 100% on product without defects.
Yes, there is a "cool" factor assoc. w/ the ipod, but are close to 10 mil, maybe more, going to be sold if they r a terrible product?
And let's face it: this is the player that showed all other companies that it's a viable market to be in.

Besides, i had some pod-envy too before i got mine.
