Well I consider my self :D one of the better seedling / veg growers for soil indoors on the planet. (HUMBLE ARENT I?)
Yours look nice and healthy. But, you can get better :)
To back that up, I photograph just about everything in every phase.
Here are my SOGS on DAY 14.
Compare yours to mine and at least you have a bench mark to follow. :)

Oh...one more thing....
Your lights shouldbe hanging horizontally over those plants not vertically.
It makes a hell of a difference....in case you were wondering :)

Kinda sorry but not really. I do think I can veg with the best, given caveman materials :)
I just meant that if you have a goal or a result in mind, you can get there.
Success leaves clues.

Want some more of Dr. Hard ON's Twin Ball Root Tonic?
1. Lose the tublular floro. Its a peece of shit and a waster of mercury and electricity too.
2. Replace with at LEAST two more of those CFL's you have. At Least Two, ideally 3.
3. You appear to have a piece of foil tape on the ballasts of one of those bulbs on the right. That tape appears, though I cannot claim, to be over an air slot. Make sure your foil tape isnt restricting any air flow into the ballast.
4. I assume you have a fan though I dont see it.
5. Pics on front row, left and front row right all both leaning left. WHy? Usually thats a sign they are migrating to the brightest part of the light....though you will fix that, right? Or, they are being blown in the wind and not rotated enuff to get the benefits of the fan.
K?

I can guarantee you that 'certain people' will come on here and tell you to get those lights down on top of those plants. Especially the cfl's. They should be within an inch or 2 at the most. The lights on the side that are verticle are actually doing very little to help the growth of those plants. Just way too far away.

really? its bright as fuck in the man if u leave the door open long it gives me headache lol sooooooo bright. should i move compacts closer?
Marc Benson
10-06-2005, 01:54 AM
It's so bright in there because all the lights are shining in your face and not on the plants. CFL's/fluorescents should be...have to be...within 2" (better to have them 1" if you have proper ventilation i.e. fans blowing on them) to really do what they're supposed to do. The one bulb long fluorescents that are standing up in the corners are just a waste of light energy. If you can you need to redo the grow area so it allows all bulbs to be able to be within the suggested 2" to the plants.

ok ill move compacts today
chisme
10-06-2005, 10:04 AM
ok i moved compacts closer is this ok also i wanna keep long flou's as i think these would b supa fucking ideal for flowering. thanx mate keep the info coming.

Looks better. CFL's though of this type put out more light from the sides of the bulb not the end. So try to get the bulbs going 'long ways' over the plants. That one is pointing at the plant.
As for the long being great for flowering? They'll work but they just have to be close. As they are right now they're doing very little if anything. Also the most intense light from tubes is in the center of the bulb.
