View Full Version : The Perfect Age

When you're young you want to be older and when you're old you want to be younger. So there must be a crossover point, an age that's between wanting to be younger and wanting to be older. What is this age? And if you're this age then are you happy with your age? Is it the perfect age to be?

I've always been happy with my age and I'm 18 almost 19. I don't know if its the perfect age to be but the way I see it is you'll always get older but never be that same age again so you might as well enjoy what ever point of life you are experiencing at the moment.

Okay, so when do people stop wanting to be older and start wanting to be (or at least seem) younger? And why?

I think 26 is the best age as well. But I may find 27 pretty nifty, too.

I figure the ages of 25-40 are probably the best ages. In this day and age you can still be pretty smokin' at 40.

I definitely dont want to be younger than I am now, I dont feel I was as interesting of a person as I am today. I am content with my age. While I recognize on a physical level I was more attractive in my early 20's, I know on an emotional level I was a lost person and rather unattractive.

I hope that as I hit each year I will find it to be the best so far, and reflect back on myself as being not as great as I am in that present moment. I hope to not remain the same. That is a nightmare of mine to reflect back 2, 5, 10 years ago and find that I am exactly the same then as I am now. The idea of getting physically older bothers me, sure, but I would much rather be old, wrinkly and wise, than old and foolish. One is an inevitable result, so I might as well stop my worry over it as that will just give me more wrinkles.

Shit, I am so high, it took me forever to write this. :o

Well I will be 50 in Feb so I have been through quite a few ages. I figure any day I can get up and smoke a bowl is a good age.
I think if your smart you can enjoy your 30's the most. You should start making more money by then and are a little more stable .
Start making plans now for then. :)

I have always wanted to be older, I'm 16 now and can buy cigs, alcohol, weed, anything i like, and i think it would be nice to be about 8 again, not a worry in the world, work is easy, no stress..

I want to get older to be able to drive, and drink legally, but also i would like to be younger for the reasons above!

chicks at that age are hot, nice firm boobs, and what more haha

People want to start seeming younger when people start referring to them as "ma'am" or "sir", when they start feeling the effects of aging-they lose muscle, gain fat, get wrinkles. I think about 30 is about when it becomes harder to blend in with the "younger crowd", and you find that you find that more of your friends are married and have kids. But I dont think our society really expects you to be a mature, "grown-up" until you're about 30.

Id hafe to say 21 is the last year I looked forward to getting older, the thing about getting older is when your body starts giving out nothing else matters, intelligence, wisdom, money nothing... then you realize everything never mattered because soon you will be dirt just like everyone one else before you who has ever lived.....LOL happy happy

I didn't start to "feel" older until my skin texture changed. I'm almost 31 and I've noticed my skin change over the last year.....

Then when I touch my daughters skin it reminds me of what it is supposed to feel like.... :)

Funny - I've been thinking about the same thing lately. I'm happiest with myself now that I have the wisdom to keep up with the world. I feel as if my views on the world were relatively under-developed, and one day recently everything seemed to 'click', and I feel infinitely more confident and knowing than I did a couple years ago. I think the 'perfect' age would vary from person to person depending solely on how happy they were. For me, that age would be (my age) nineteen so far. I'm unable to judge whether or not the perfect age would be 21 or 35 or 63 because I haven't experienced it. Maybe one day I'll be completely at ease with myself and will have accepted the negative aspects of life, and I'll be happy to declare that year the best days of my life.

I'm 35 now, almost 36, and am staring to feel old. I'd say around 30 is the time when you start looking back fondly on your younger years. By that time your life is pretty much set. You're probably pretty entrenched in your career, have started a family(maybe), possibley have a house and a mortgage to think about, etc. Prior to that there's always the "future" to think about. Then one day you wake up and realize the future has arrived. In other words, you've made your bed and are now lying in it. Like it or not.

I think that it's gotta be when you're nearly retired and got rid of all your student loan payments.
