Okay, if you say so.

Please, enlighten us with some talent.

Well, obviously, if he thinks GreenDay is better, then he'll enlighten you with them. I've no clue who you're talking about, though. So, I'll enlighten you with a three-piece band that hails for Toronto, Canada: Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart in RUSH.

Actually, I do, know who you're talking about and they rock GreenDay's world.

Well you could always try a Leonard Cohen/speed metal enema.

Actually, in the liner notes of System's new CD, it has sources claiming that MJ is harmless and has caused 0 deaths in its history.

Punk shit? Like someone said, I won't bother with that either.

I think we just have different expectations from music.

I don't care about lyrics. Not even a little bit. If I wanted lyrics, I'd read poetry. To me, music is all about the sound. That's why I love Pink Floyd so much. I have no idea what they're talking about most of the time, and it sounds amazing.

SOAD, on the other hand, seems to favor lyrics over music. At least that's how I percieve them. It's just like, well, I don't give a shit where they're building a prison system, or how much of a better job you could do than Bush. I don't care what they have to say, and all they're doing is saying.

Other than Pink Floyd, there is one band that just really defines what I'm looking for.

Liquid Tension Experiment.

Ever heard of Dream Theater? This is them, except without the singer. It's all intrumentals. And this isn't just some friends starting a band together. These guys went to college exclusively for music, and Sweet Monkey Christ does it show. They have got to be the MOST technically skilled band I've ever heard of.

Go buy (or steal from the web) an album, and consider yourself enlightened.

Oh yeah because SOAD is exactly NOT that

And Punk shit? I'd rather listen to a genre that 90 percent of the bands follow there lyrics.Like SOAD with all there anti war, fuck bush , "what about the children in Iraq dying" propaganda bullshit. But we can go back to our multimillion dollar homes and materials in Hollywood (or where ever they live). There music blows ass and so does there message.I could get as much popularity as them if I just got a guitar, sang the same songs about are countrys flaws and sold it to a bunch of Hot Topic big gay pants wearing 13 year olds. Not to mention whoever said Green Day is punk? Punk is a music/lifestyle designed to throw society problems and ideas back into societys face.Green Day going through a multibillion dollar record company makes them the exact opposite.Same goes for stupid ass Warped Tour bands, that you guys can make witty comebacks for, yes that includes Pennywise and Nofx. Both suck.

Man, alot of people these days are getting caught up on what category music falls in to and aren't actually caring whether the music is good or not. I don't give two fucks if SoaD make 'cooperate, hollywood' commerical crap.. they're a good band and I like them. That's all that should matter - whether they sound good to you or not.

I read an interview with the guys from SoaD recently. As far as the whole hypocritical aspect goes; all they're doing is writing music about what they see. Who gives a fuck if they go back to their multimillion dollar houses? All they're doing is writing about the fucked up shit they see around them, that's all. What's wrong with that?

Exactly, and a lot of their songs are about amerian genocide, and their home country, and the fact that the U.S. wont notice it. Some people(void) should get their facts straight by learning a little bit. Its not that hard.
