I play guitar. Been playing for around 14 yrs or so.

I play a Fender '67 strat(picture). It has been passed down to me by my pops, and all of the parts are original on it except the neck, saddles, and the middle pickup. I replaced that a few years ago now with a Seymour Duncan, and sounds amazing. The wammy bar now has a wicked clown, skull head on it instead of the white piece. Old picture.

And a picture of my amp. Has 2 10inch speakers in there and is louder than a bitch. When I use to play with old band I would have to only turn her up to 4.5-5 on the volume, and the drummer was LOUDER than fuck too. There would be piles of sawdust at the end of practice uner his snare drum.

I play all kinds of music. I love playing the blues. Tons of fun when you get someone else who knows what key to play in, and what scales to jam with. I also play heavy shit, everything from System of a Down, to Corrosion O.C., Down. I like jamming out like, heavy Southern rock music. Lynyrd Skynyrd but really, really loud and with a hard kick to your balls.

Reggae as well, even some punk rock I'll bust out. Not that pussy Green Day bullshit, something fast like Pennywise or something.

Peace.

since i have a jiont lit i will ramble on some.

ive created my own personal collection of music thru life itself.
i play them to myself sometimes, kick back and toke one
its kinda cool to hear what i made up out of the blue and at sometime finally decided to record a track of for when i cant play at all i can at least listen to some i made when i could.
you know we all get old, or die young:eek:
if that made any sense,

before i messed up my hands i could play about anything half ass decent wasnt nothing i wouldnt try to play,my dad tuaght me how he was into bluegrass and whiskey tunes most his life
many different types of songs to play out there,
most people will play what they like to hear ,
now i cant even play anything worth a shit but my own tunes and singing just aint my thang, never was or will be,yet i do it so i can hear me later on

i create songs becuase i like to play and thats just to entertian me.

i no longer play along with anyone as i once did, dont think i could now its been so dam long, had some great freinds to jam with in the past im sure you will too, meet a few people that just blend in effortlessly with.
you should look forward to that
if you aint already got some lil gang of the would be party band from hell.
have fun with it.

I've been playing for sixteen years.

I was at a bar/restaurant picking up food and I had ordered a beer, she asked me what age and I had to think about it. I've been playing for fourteen years.

I took music theory in high school, a course at The College Of St. Rose, but never took band lessons growing up, so I don't read music. Well, it'd take me a long time and, hell if I know the all the symbols.
Currently, I have a wah-wah and a different pedal. I now just hook up and play, I don't even bother recording myself anymore. I used to tape myself all the time on "little tiny" cassette recorders and I'd make two-track tapes, which sounded pretty-much-like shit. Now I have Nero, to record on the computer, and I'm too lazy to do that. I will soon, though.
When I bought my first guitar, at 16 yo, it was something and a Peavey amp from the 70's, for $100's. I got three free lessons and with that the teacher taught me "Broons Bane".

It's a classical-guitar peice created by Alex Lifeson, of Rush, and you can find it off of their "Exit...Stage Left" album, released in 1981. It's a live album and "Broon's Bane" leads into a song called "The Trees", which also starts off with a classical guitar piece, although this one is easier.

And then it rocks!!!

This is the verse Geddy Lee sings while accompanying Alex finger-picking the guitar:

There is unrest in the forest.
There is trouble with the trees.
For the Maples want more sunlight.
And the Oaks' ignore their pleas.

I have a Hohner acoustic guitar and an Encore electric (not the best guitars ever, but they do the job;))

My brother has a Gibson Epiphone, in black (same as Slash - G 'n' R)

I ought to practice more, i hardly ever play.. I will start playing more often starting now lol

I'm working on my theory but I have much to learn. For some good flamenco artists, check out "strunz and farah" and "al di meola, paco de lucia, and john mclaughlin"

wheeeeee i love my strat! plays really nice, sounds great, all original pieces, havent replaced anything. of course, if you're lookin for a high end instument, your lookin in the wrong place. it is what it is, and thats a beginner to intermediate instrument, im starting to think i want an upgrade:D I'm more of an SG person, anyways.

I've been playing for nine years through an Ibanez to a Strat', and several acoustic guitars - steel and nylon. Ibanez/Crate amps. I play anything from folk to death metal depending on my mood. Lately though - as someone said above - I've been playing a lot of my own music. My best comes out with the acoustic; writing complex, mellow pieces. Playing thousands of power chords in drop d got kind of old. Bass is also a refreshing once-in-awhile thing for me, although I've never had one myself. Both great instruments. Pichacho, my dad had a nice SG. Personally I've always wanted a sunburst Gibson Les Paul though.. with a Marshall half stack haha. Never got around to buying one, though. Maybe one day. :)

i'veb een playing for 8 years this christmas. i still have my baby, an all black gibson epiphone, and i stole my mom's squire, thats plae yellow and white. my friend's uncle described the music we play as a mix between goo goo dolls, hootie and the blowfish, and metallica. my friend loves thrash, and i'll play whatever comes to me. i would say it sounds more like softer RHCP songs like soul to squueze and under the bridge.
