It's true that thing explains it all...it's to late when all the trich's are amber or depending on how you like it.

The picture is showing the hair colors.
Trichs are the Trichomes on the areas of the plant that have little shiny ball type structures. They are usually around the areas where bud is growing. If you get a 30x Magnifying glass then you can see they are actually shaped more like water towers or a golf ball on a tee. When they usually go from clear to cloudy to amber. You want to harvest when the majority of them are cloudy. The pic you showed is what some people go by to harvest by looking at the hairs.
