Every few weeks I have the pleasure of realizing that I'm dreaming, and then I get to modify my world as I see fit. Last night it happened again. It was great. I don't remember what tipped me off to the fact that I was sleeping, but I got to fool around with the hot chick who sits next to me in Russian class and walk around the school hallways smoking a joint. I love lucid dreams. :D

Anybody else have any lucid dreams lately? Here are some sites if you're interested in learning how to control your dreams.

dreaming is actually really interesting....even though not much is really kjnown about it but ive been doing it in psychology and its actually quite cool....especially when you remember your dreams...

but id never really thought about people speaking during dreams....i cant think of one sentance someone has said to me or to anyone in a dream...

Quick Fact: When your in the REM stage of dreaming your brain is nearly as active as when your are awake!

There is some talking in my dreams, but I've noticed that there is alot less of it than in the real world.

I wish I could remember all that was said in my dreams... Occasionally it will be an entire 'lecture' and I really wish i could remember what was said.

Rarely I fall into a dream like state but at the same time can percieve whats going on around me in the physical world. The first time I was sitting in the back of a car (dream) and at the same time was able to view my physical surroundings. I was lying on the couch at the time. It only lasts about 30 seconds (to my knowledge) and I was completely unable to move (physically). The 3 times its occures it has scared the shit out of me and I dont have a clue what it is. All three times occurred the night after I had X. Is this some form of lucid dreaming or something completely different?

Sounds like "out of body experience" or somthing sililar
lucid dream is actually being asleep but you are aware you are dreaming...therefore giving you the power to completly control your dreams....get what i mean?
:)

ohh just read the above post and that sounds right...ive never heard of thet before...

I can. During my dream last night, for some reason I was back at my house upstate, and for some reason my brother was shooting a gun at me. Of course I wasn't hurt because I could control all my sensations, and I said to him "You suck at lucid dreaming!"

the crazy thing when i realize i am in a dream, its not because something wierd is happening, its just a thought that comes in saying hay your dreaming or something to that effect

I've noticed that when I'm dreaming, I'm sorta guided by my emotions. (sometimes) Like if I'm horny, I'll have sex, or if I'm afraid, I'll be chased. If I'm angry I fight and if I'm excited I fly or jump really, really high. Now this isn't always the case, it's just something I've noticed on several occasions.

Actually, that is the pretty much the same thing that happens to me. Sometimes doing or witnessing very strange things or events in dreams doesn't have the desired effect of lucidity because strange events dont always seem strange when experienced in a dream, so if nothing seems out of the ordinary, a reflective state of mind isn't likely to be triggered. I think that being able to reflect on any given moment in a dream is a key to lucidity. The problem is not knowing how to trigger a reflective state of mind. Sometimes the absurdity of the situation one finds him or her self in is enough to trigger it. Other times it just seems to happen at random...

I can lucid dream at will. Its taken a lot of practice, but basically what you do is when you are ready to go to sleep, do a body relaxation excersise. An easy one is while lieing down on your bed, start at your head, really focus on it in ur mind, tell your head (not speaking) to relax, let go, sleep. slowly work your way down your body until its all relaxed. Then, you must find a way to keep your mind focused on something, but be relaxed enough for your body to go into it's sleep state. You could do simple mathmatical problems, or what i do, is just focus on the sound of my air conditioner. The key is not to let your mind wander, if you do, then you will just have a normal dream. Keep your mind focused, and the you should start dreaming, and you can control what you do, where you go, you can fly, you can hook up with some chicks uve had ur eye on ;) or whatever u want.

Happy Dreaming

Woohoo, I just had another one! I read up on them extensively yesterday at the sites I linked to in my first post, and I actually got myself to have one! It was a pretty short lucid dream and I only had limited control over my environment, but it was still really cool.

I don't remember exactly what tipped me off to the fact that it was a dream, but something hit me as I was standing on the second floor of my dorm building. I must be sleeping, I thought. This is too unreal. Just as I figured that out, the dream started to fade, so I quickly tried to remember some of the techniques I read about to keep this from happening. I immediately tried spinning around in place, which helped me stay in the dream but things still looked pretty fuzzy.

Then I remembered the hand rubbing technique. I looked down at my hands, and, like the site predicted, they looked odd. My fingers were very short and stubby for some reason. Anyhow, I rubbed them together vigorously and it worked like a charm. Immediately the picture became much clearer and all the colors became much more vivid.

At this point I decided to start exploring. I went outside and located two dream characters (who I had never seen before in real life), and they introduced themselves as Ed and Julian. "Come on, follow me!" I said to them, and started to walk off. They looked puzzled, but being my loyal mind slaves, they did as I commanded.

I then proceeded to pull a big joint and a lighter out of my pocket, since I've been dry and fiending for so long in real life, and fired it up. As I inhaled I had a sense of getting some ash in my mouth. This is the first time I can remember having any sort of vivid tactile sense in my dreams. I wiped the ash off my tongue with my fingers, and proceeded to smoke it.

My memory gets a little fuzzy at this point, but somehow I ended up with Ed and Julian and a whole bunch of other dream friends in a grassy field somewhere, frolicking around and smoking the joint. Somebody suggested to me that surely I could make the joint much bigger with my mind, so I concentrated on it and tried really hard, but it wouldn't budge. Okay, I thought, I will close my eyes and it will be bigger when I open them. I closed my eyes, opened them, and indeed it was. I tried it again, but when I opened my eyes again, they were my real world eyes and not my dream eyes, and I was lying awake in bed staring at the ceiling. :(

Oh well, I'm still really excited that I was able to have five minutes of lucidity. :D

Ahh..I realized that this post is long. I have experience with this subject definately....hehe.

Alright, my lucid dream experiance was good for a long time, and you guys will think its complete bullshit. hehe, but i will tell you anyway because i swear its true. Oh ya, and people talk allll the time in my dreams. Everyone does alot, more than in the real world even.

Ok, in the first one it was when i was like 13 or something. I was at my grandma's house (in the dream) and I found all this money buried in the backyard she said i could have. I met these two weird neighbors, and they told me i was dreaming. All of the sudden I was in complete control, and I kept asking everyone how i could take the money, and get it out of my dream. Finally i decided to put it in this book and go play in the back yard. Then I woke up after forgetting aobut the money.

A few years later when I was like 15 or 16 I found a book I had got on dreams when i was young from school and it described "Lucid dreaming". So I tried and tried and got nothing, but a month later I had one about being in boy scouts or something and throwing something at some mountain. Then I decided I would search the internet for help, and found a few sites that i lost since now. Then I had the dream that led to my lucid dreamings...

I was at a gameshow that was like jeopardy but we were all at podiums around a circular thing in the middle of the room. I suddenly realized halfway through i was dreaming and started to wake up, and then i was like "noo..i must stay asleep." so i like, somehow relaxed and stayed asleep, and then I was like "oh ya.." so I made everything like, black and white except this gorgeous woman in a leather suit type thing that just came out of nowhere. She opened up her suit and i was sucked into her vagina (weird...) then there was this bright light and i was sitting on this table, and there was anthony hopkins. He was dressed as a doctor, and he told me a 5 minute speech on how i should do lucid dreams. Then I woke up.

I dont remember a word of the speech, but I kept having lucid dreams for a month or two, it was great. It was actually getting to the point where i could like, taste, feel, smell, all sorts of things in my dreams. Then suddenly I started to have less and less, so I looked online and found this thing that said "If you look at a word, and then you look away, you can look back at the word and it will change." So i did this when i was awake sometimes just to get it in my head..i guess. Then in my dream I was playing monopoly with my friend and I looked at a word, it was a big complicated word, I looked away and then looked back and it was the exact same word. I thought I looked like an idiot and me and my friend just laughed. Then a little later I was positive I was dreaming because this wasnt like monopoly at all. So I ran at full speed into a wall and hurt my shoulder. The pain was intense, and then i looked at jon and he had this look of shock on his face..then I ran outside..then i woke up. Since then I didnt have a lucid dream until i was like 17, and I have them occasionally.

I also think I have found a way in the last week to get them, maybe. Its just an experiment. I woke up a few times in the middle of the night once, and i fell right back asleep...and I had a lucid dream after the second or third time. So I set my alarm for 6 in the morning, and then 6:30, and then 7, and then i slept until 10:30 and i had a lucid dream both times i did this. In my most recent one I experimented a bit, but its like the dream didnt want me to be in control....

First there was a building, so I walked through a wall, and then things got all bouncy like i was going to just fall through the floor so I just stabilized the environment. I kissed some really good looking girl i talked to in high school, I dont know why she was in there, but she started telling me to do something and I thought I would rather be on a beach. So I walked out a door and I was on a beach. I thought "yes, im lucid dreaming, i can fly over water!" so i tried to but i just fell into the water and people were trying to race me across the lake so i swam really slowly and still beat them because they were trying to tow without boats.

ermitonto and Jake0steve they sound like some cool experiances to have had....i might get back into lucid dreaming again.....

i set you lucid dreamers a challenge....next time you go lucid see if you can ask your self a question...or try and remember a past merory that isnt too clear....and see if you can remember the memory whenyou are sleeping.....get it?....if not....try to remember somthing from real life that you dont really remember very well....and see if you can..

your brain may just make somthing up...like a false memory...but you may be able to tap into your mememory or somthing....who knows! oOoOoOo

What the hell? Dreaming about being in school?

I have tried to get the hang of lucid dreams/OBE's with little or no prevail. I wonder if you have to have a natural 'thing' to be able to experience them or if it can be learned completely through text. I guess I have not been trying hard enough.
