looking for advice re:regen the mother plant

Im giving a go at trying to regrow veg on the girls that i have already harvested buds from. They were grown outside in pots, and cut back to a few lower alternate stems, which also have buds on them. What I w ant to do is put them on a 20/4 indoor cycle, get some veg growth, and then move to a 12/12 to grow more buds off these fine gals. I'm suspect that those bud sites can revert back to veg, but im hoping that i might get some veg growth from the nodes behind the existing buds.

Has anyone tried this?

If you left enuff leaves, there should still be enuff energy to power the plant. Did you leave enuff leaves? If so....

All you can do is water it and force the light cycle as you have indicated.

However, you should know that this often leads to hermie production :)

thanks for the reply, HardDon. I cut them back rather drastically as I was harvesting the but growth, so I guess ill find out via trial and error if I infact did leave enuf leaves on for food production. There are a few fan leaves pre stem, but mist of thatâ??s there now is reel tight and buddy. I might attempt to prune the buds once I see the plants taking off with some new growth, but does it hurt to leave them on?

I also know what you are saying about the hermies, since Iâ??m sure that this is stressful to the plantâ?¦but, im ready with my little ball-snipping scissors to make the best of it. If it does not work, no biggie, ill just try again with a nice clean hyro set up but I figured no harm in trying.

Ive done this about a dozen times,you shouldnt have much of a problem, they wont need much water due to the lack of plant matter, Ive never gave them any ferts either, the new growth is usually VERY dark green and waxy looking.

You can use 18/6, but 24/0 seems to shorten the reveg time, new growth should show in 2 weeks, maybe 3, after it starts putting out shoots I would go back to your regular light cycle.

The new growth usually comes from the old buds the best, so leave some of them, and some leaves too.

Thanks Mole. I have observed the same thing, realy dark green leathery looking leaves, and after a bit less that one week inside Iâ??m beginning to see some new axial growth along the stems, so it looks promising so far. I have left a number of the old tomato flower buds on, they appear to be slowly ripening, so Ill just keep watching them to see if I get new growth from those sites. Its been a fun experiment either way.

Oh and im using a 20/4 cycle now, tho ive thought about just leaving the lights on 24/7. but most plants are accustomed to at least some period of night, so I figure a little snooze might keep them happy until I get enuf new growth to warrant moving back to a 12/12.

At one time I kept mine in the same soil,lately Ive been cutting back the root ball and repotting,after some new growth has started .

I used 18/6 many times and they did fine, good luck..
