Would cool white fluorescent lighting for seedling and veg stage then switching to 150 watt HPS for 2 plants be ideal lighting? If so, how many fluorescent lights would be ideal. And would using the HPS in combination with fluoros be good for veg stage or should i just use the fluoros.

Using an HPS in combo with the CFL will present a problem.
Remember CFL's are only good if they are right smack close to the target. It is difficult to get them that close and yet have an HPS still getting light on them. The CFLS should be blocking the light from the HPS.
Thus, the HPS will only light the CFL's :)
Now flower is a different story as the CFLs can be placed on the sides or under the canopy whilst the HPS lights the top of the canopy.
During veg stage, pic either or.
If you pic CFLs, you will need some 5500K bulbs....for 2 plants....about 250 TRUE WATTS.
Flowering 2 plants with a 150W light will provide the bare minimun light needed and will not allow them to flourish as they would with say a 250W or 400W HPS.
I say this based upon a 30 days veg period with an average height of 12" - 14".

alright ill go for the 250 watt instead then for the hps... and use as many 40 watt fluoros as i can fit for veg stage. Then hook up that hps and hopefully get some real nice buds.
