By the lyrics of the artist?

Or by the structure of the song? (Guitars..Piano..Bass?..etc.)

I listen to the instruments and the vocal melody, I rarely pay attention to what they're saying.

EDIT: and since I love early 90's sweedish death metal, I can't even understand half of it.

Lyrics. i listen to hiphop, r&b.. Raggae, raggaeton..

i cant stand hearing something w/ wack lyrics even if the beat/instrumental is good
