Is it best to dry iit indoors in a closet or something?

You want to dry it in an evironment where there is fresh air circulation.... a closet is better after the intial 3-4 days dry period.

A closet is fine, just keep a fan blowing in fresh air and removing the co2...

A dry environment is what you are looking for :)
